Although they do work, just because you purchased the set doesn't mean the work you turn out will be visually impressive. Despite having this kit you will still fail at weaving and braiding paracord if you don't do it well. It IS possible to look professional while you do this, but it isn't guaranteed.

The Smoothing tool works well. There was a nice plus with the Needle. As a result of this, the FIDs are difficult to keep threaded (this is the biggest complaint). I purchased these to complement the previously purchased straight FIDs that I used for several With the tapered FID and smaller ones, and the two angled sizes, my set would have been complete, as I had been using my Jewelry Fine Tooth Sailfish Pliers for some of the smaller cords already. The Set is most likely to be returned. To make for a better grasp of the cord, I cut the cord on an angle and heated it up, but that did not even work for a second and I even went so far as to wrap some paper and foil around the cord to see if it would help. I don't see how that works.

The needle I was looking for was blunt and had a large-sized eye We have enough eye to pull nano-cord, but came across this product and decided we would appreciate having a few extra fids in various sizes available. I didn't have any issues with any of the dimensions or external finish, but it's hard to mess with polished Although, there was very little functionality out of the box with the Fids. All of their tips were sharp, making it hard for them to pass through cords. I used a file and sandpaper to smooth them out, and they now work fine. When I tried using it to attach cord, the internal threads did not grab, and when I did get it attached, it easily slipped off, so I had to reattach. It is best to attach them multiple In the end, I As soon as I tapped them, they attached and held just fine. They would be very frustrating to use if you did not have files, a tap set, and a vice to hold them in place while you cleaned up the threads. I like the cheap plastic case as well as the snap closure but the case is too small and the clasp is not strong enough to keep You must use it for something other than storage of fids or lacing needles, otherwise it's useless. 550 threads are all too narrow, so you have to cut the threads then pull and melt the sheath before you can use them.

The starter kit should be decent Although, if there was a bit more variety of gauge sizes offered, I would think the service would be more valuable. Additionally, if they provided a deal where you could have two of each, you could do so on each tail for a reduction of having to take them off, and a reduction of having to remove them as well. Each thread strand is sewn separately. It was a decent purchase in the end.

ACTION IS REQUIRED. There were a few of these that were extremely sharp. There shouldn't be a reason for such a thing. As well, the size of the threads in the article is incorrect. Another set isn't as hard to use, and does not require me to cut half the cord. I waste more materials than I ever have trying to use these.
