I used them for what I needed them for, and they worked pretty well.
It is impossible to pierce a hole to allow the clay to exit easily. If the clay isn't leather hard, you'll need a needle or narrow stick to scrape it off.
The hole cutters in this set are nice. When you clean them with them you probably won't have to worry about the handle soaking up water because it's clear coated. While it is too early to predict if the tubes will rust, if they are dried after washing, then they seem to be ok. There is some oddity regarding the measurement of the largest cutter in this set, I believe it should have been 3/4in, and if they had added 1in, this would have been a perfect set with the most common measurements Even after all these years, I still think it is worth the money.
Nice wooden handles make this work very well. When it dries, the clay can get stuck inside the tube, but it will come out once it is dry.
It would be really nice if the wet clay would simply flow out after cutting, but instead I must use a needle tool to remove it. Using leather may prove to be more effective, I will experiment It is better to work with hard clay rather than If there are better holes elsewhere, I'm guessing there are some Here is a list of the cutting tools available.
For one of my special orders, I bought these. I wasn't concerned about their durability because the price was good enough for me to ignore it. I am pleased with how well they work and found them well worth the investment. There seems to be enough strength in them to last a long time.
I'm pleased with them. My goal was to make some candle holders out of porcelain and these cutters made it so easy. Although they have subpar quality, since the tips bent after only 2 months of use, they still did the job for me.
This type of lamp works well for what I need it for (candle lamps with holes to allow light to pass This product was very easy to order from and arrived fast. The blades cut smoothly through leather hard clay and the cutout pieces fall off easily (doesn't get stuck in the side like I thought they These tools are an excellent value for the price.
