Questions & Answers

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've never placed an order for clay before. What is the approximate size of 8 oz of clay? Can anyone give me an estimate of the size of the block?

It isn't a frivolous query. lol : ) An 8oz block measures approximately 1 inch tall, 2 inches wide, and 5 inches long. As a result, you'll have a lot of clay on your hands!

What's the difference between Sculpey III and regular sculpey? I'd like to make large beads and ornaments out of it. ?

Hello,br>The original Sculpey is only available in White and Terra Cotta, while the III is available in a wide range of colors and sizes. The III has a little more strength and less filler than the II. The manufacturer recommends putting a compressed ball of aluminum foil inside the ball if you're going to make large beads and ornaments. You'll also use less clay this way. br>Thank you very much.

Is there any way to paint this? If so, what kind of paint did you use?

Yes, I'd use acrylic paints as well.

Is sculpy resistant to water?

Yes, I believe so. It is, however, extremely porous. To seal the finished piece, I used acrylic media.

Amazing! It's incredible! I used them to make small clay pins
5/5

They were incredibly simple to work with. If you're painting over the top, Sculpley also sells a gloss coat to help the paint last longer!.

It's all good
5/5

I used this clay to make toilet paper and a roll. It turned out so well that everyone assumed it was real.

Toddler Handprint Christmas Ornaments can be made with this clay
5/5

I'm not a polymer clay sculptor or enthusiast; all I wanted to do this year for Christmas was make two handprint ornaments with my toddlers. Quick delivery of the clay. It was a little stiff out of the package, but with a little kneading and the warmth of my hands, it softened and became workable. The 8 oz. The block was perfect, and there was just enough left over to make two ornaments. To get my toddlers' hand prints deep enough to show all the details, I had to apply a lot of pressure and pressing. However, once we had done so, we were able to capture all of the details, including fine fingerprints. It was simple to set in the toaster oven. I placed them on a foiled lined tray and baked them for 15 to 20 minutes, as directed (I did lower the temperature slightly than recommended because I read online that white clay can brown if the temperature is too high). I'm very pleased with the clay and ornaments that we created. They were a lot of fun to make for the kids. Because of its low price, versatility, and ease of use, I would recommend this product.

White - Blending is a breeze
5/5

Everything should be soft pastel shades or vibrant color if you're like me! However, there is a time and a place for white. It's excellent for blending and creating custom colors, for starters. It's also more cost-effective that way. Let's say you're working on a big project and need a blue that's somewhere between mid and light. You can't seem to find one you like, or it's only available in 2 oz. blocks? The answer is simple. Buy .

Sculpey, the good ol' Sculpey

I was concerned that the product would arrive dried and/or expired, but it arrived in perfect condition. br>Perfect for those who are new to working with oven-bake clay.

It's a good deal, and it's less expensive than hobby shops
5/5

I bought this clay to make checker and backgammon stones for gaming end tables I was building and didn't want scratched by rough plastic. I'd never worked with polymer clay before, so it was a bit of a learning curve. Conditioning the clay isn't easy and takes a toll on your hands, but the end result is very nice!.

It's a pleasant experience
5/5

I haven't worked with clay since high school (4 years ago) when I was in a ceramics class; these are obviously two different types of clay, but the sculpey clay was simple to work with despite my lack of experience. Even though I didn't make anything fancy (just coasters), I had a good time. br>It was great that it only came in white because I didn't want or need anything else. The white is fantastic because it allowed me to use acrylic paint on it once it had cooled. br>I didn't have to worry about baking it too little or too long because the instructions were right on the package.

It was a fantastic product, but if you don't use it within a year, you'll have wasted your money
5/5

For the past 7 years, I've been using Sculpey. It was a fantastic product, but if you don't use it within a year, it becomes extremely difficult to use, so only buy something you'll use right away.
