Questions & Answers
The THIRD firing is for overglazes. They go on after the glaze firing (over a shiny glaze), and this one needs to be fired to 020.
For overglaze luster, the essence is thinner and brushes clean.
Mother of Pearl Luster is intended for decorative purposes only and will not be able to withstand the abuse of a sink or the abrasive cleaners used in one. If only a basic soap is used to clean the sink, it will last for a long time; however, bleaches and abrasives, such as rough sponges, will most likely wear it down. It is dishwasher safe on the exterior of a functional pot. Because it is not food safe, it should not be used in a functional pot. I would avoid it unless it was for personal use only because you can't control how someone else cleans a sink, such as with abrasives. This product is applied after a product has been glazed and vitrified, and only a low fire of 020 is used to seal it on top of the glaze.
Fire with a clear glaze, then refire with mother of pearl.

Duncan's entire line of products is top-notch. Working with their mother of pearl and golds on glass is one of my favorite things to do. They're absolutely perfect.
The seller was prompt in shipping the product, and I'm looking forward to getting my piece ready for the Mother of Pearl coat and final firing. It's currently greenware that's been cleaned.
As with any lustre, make sure there's plenty of airflow!.
This will be used on a few of my ceramic pieces, and the finished product has a lovely effect.
This is the first time I've used it, and I'll be using it a lot more in the future. This was my first time using this product, and I was very pleased with the results.
The luster has a dazzling, iridescent effect, which is ideal for a wyvern's hypnotic wings.
Thank you.
This is an excellent item.
