If you mean like a glaze for pottery before firing, then it is more like chalky finger paint than it is a stain or glaze. There is no way to fire it, though. Colors can be set with varnish, but the colors won't be what you thought they were in the beginning. It is a good thing that this stuff does not actually set on its own. There's no other way for it but to dry In other words, once you realize that you don't want it, all you need to do is wash it off with water. Although you may get a very mild stain, it's neither here nor there, so if you're going to paint over it anyway, why bother? In addition, if you use an alcohol or oil-based stain, it will hide whatever tint you may have imparted. But if you think you can use this product on its own, and then spill a bit of water on it, you'll end up with something that looks more like the "I ran into Tammy Faye at the mall" t-shirt. My hats off to those who mix this with other mixtures so it can swirl and do all the cool stuff in the pictures that made me want to try it, but I gave it one star since I do not think it is what it claims to be on its own. It is too late for me to return it, but if I could, I would do so.

It was horrible, but I have become obsessed with it now

Due to my mixing of it and use of it for many different projects, I had to update my review. As I mentioned in my "eh" review below, I've now bought it in every color imaginable. Since it mixes so well with water and water-based mediums, pretty much anything can be painted with it. The glaze is really not a glaze at all. It would be necessary to purchase a glaze separately. I use it on glass, metal, paper, and clay, but I don't use it on plastic. When I mix the colors, I create a fantastic olive green, turquoise, mahogany, really anything I like. I mostly top it with glue medium and use it as a stain or a glue paint. It has a matte finish, so it's perfect for me. I dilute it and use it as a stain or The tone is totally out of character for me

I'm shocked at how brilliant the tune is. There may be a need to use very thick coats. However, regular coats dry to a super matte finish (which I personally Photographs don't convey the feeling as well as they do in person.

This expensive chalk paint runs like a race

There is an enormous amount of misinformation in this product description. Staining and glazing at the same time is not possible here. I have never used anything like it before. It's water-based and very runny and dries very chalky. If you are using bare wood, add a wood conditioner to a teaspoon of $2 acrylic paint, and you will get the same results. Or you can dilute the paint with three tablespoons of water and get the same results. You will then need to apply a sealant. You can't use it in a pour because it's not economical. Make yourself a savings of money by buying five bottles of acrylic paint at Michael's.

While the color is gorgeous, please keep in mind if you are using it on something not very light, it will resemble black almost. The color shown on the photo is the natural color outside, but when viewed in some lights it appears purple, and in other lights it appears.

I am amazed at how much better it is than I expected

So far I'm very impressed with how smoothly the color goes on. I only played with it a little bit, but so far I'm very satisfied. It was totally transparent, so I mixed in a small amount of water, thinking it was transparent already, but it turned out much more colorful than I had expected. Due to the price, I was initially hesitant to try this product, but your money goes a long way with this stuff!.

looks nice, but we received a red rather than a purple color

Red, black, and purple are the colors I ordered. In addition to the black card, I received two red cards. The seller and I did not complain to each other or to Amazon. Since I do not have experience with their customer service, I cannot comment. Although it does not look as good as the red and black I used for the guitar body. The problem would have been too much trouble to try to fix, so I figured it would be easier to just leave it alone.
