Questions & Answers

If I were to order jet black V361and bright red V387 in gallon quantities, could you please supply it?

Thanks for reaching out, You have asked a great question. Thank you so much. Currently, the largest size that we carry for these underglazes is 16 ounces. If the inconvenience has been caused, I apologize.

This underglaze can be used with low fire 06 ?

I believe so, and it can also be fired all the way up to conc 10 and will still remain In the picture, you can see that the underglaze does not have a finishing clear topper. The felt texture will remain velvet matte for any artwork that it is applied to. You may apply a clear gloss glaze topper if you wish to achieve that shine. For a gloss glaze that can be fired to cone 05, I recommend Duncan's Pure Brilliance gloss glaze.

A black shirt will never go out of style! Under MATTE clear, we go to cone 6
5/5

Sgraffito is a good technique for decorating functional and sculptural ceramics using this underglaze. My sgraffito design is carved onto greenware, then I paint 2 coats onto it and carve it into the surface. After bisquing, I fire it to cone 6 underneath a matte There are times when my matte glaze (using G1214Z Matte Clear) does not get along with underglazes. It is available in black Amaco Velour. The underglaze pairs perfectly with my matte glaze in the studio, so it is my main staple. Just as it is supposed to, it remains solid and black. Nonetheless, under a GLOSSY clear it is possible to see some brushstrokes from the coverage with 2 coats. Maybe add another coat or get Amaco LUG series Black. If you need FULL, SOLID coverage maybe apply another coat.

My rating system mentions "sheerness" and I am confused as to why it is mentioned in the system? Anyone using underglaze does not want to leave their painting looking like that
5/5

Since it's intended use requires thick and opaque films, it's thick and opaque. Amaco is the best brand of underglaze out there, I only use it. On my art Instagram @kiln_me_softly, you can see an example of the black underglaze.

It is great to have The black underglaze I have been using for many years and have never had a disappointing experience with it or any of Amaco's velvet underglazes
5/5

As much as I like it, I buy it by the pint to save money. It can be used with or without a glaze. With this color I've had good results from cone 6 through cone 10.

The good news
5/5

A black ink does not appear under cone 10. A light gray just for the sake of reading.

I like it! I like what I've read so far! You will need more than one coat of paint to achieve This technique is better suited to bisque than to I noticed a slight running of the clear glaze when I applied it
5/5

As of now, I am Once the bisque has been underglazed and before the glaze is applied, it runs no more.
