How do I make it black? How do I do that? My plans include making mugs, bowls, etc, so I need the material to be nontoxic. Is it also required to seal the crack once it is ?

It is not possible to seal this so that it will not be contaminated with food Functional and safe for use in It is imperative that dishes are made with clay that has been kiln fired and glazes that are safe for dinnerware.

Put on your thinking cap how much a pound of clay is like a stick It would be equivalent to four sticks of butter to weigh a pound of clay. You might want to consider that the students would need more or less than one stick of butter for their project. Both two and five pounds of butter would work. The 5 pound option would give your students a bit

I would like to use this as a base for my The tree supports a heavy wire tree, but is it strong enough to support the heavy ?

As far as I am concerned If you were to use wet clay to make a base, how many pounds you use would depend on how much weight it will hold and how evenly you spread it out. If the wire you are using to make the tree is the same wire you will be using to construct the base, then the answer would be yes as long as the base is wide enough to handle the weight of the

Is true to its word and does what it says
4/5

As well as being well packaged, it allowed me to keep the malability in good condition. This product shrinks a bit after a few hours, which can be fixed with another layer of clay in about a day. At the large chain craft stores, I found the same product for a bit less, plus with the coupon for 40% this amounts to quite a bit.

A lamp base can be easily replaced by yourself
4/5

For the bottom of two lamps, one for a table reading lamp, and one for a floor lamp, I used this ballast. Since both had cracked interior bases, and only expensive lamps today are made with plaster, instead of iron inserts, the plaster cracks and crumbles, causing the lamp to not stand. Not wanting to throw away very nice lamps, I used Using quikcrete cement is suggested on YouTube, but then you also have to pour it over the cord. This clay is moldable, so you can keep the cord channel in place. After smoothing it flat with a metal ruler, I could instantly clean it with a damp cloth. There is some shrinkage of this clay from the sides of the lamp bases (the box warns you that this will occur), but fortunately both lamp bases remained intact. By using a glue gun to fill in the shrinkage cracks along the edges, I was able to re-attach the paper to the wall To attach the paper, you must Additionally, the bottom is covered in felt The lamps are once again in perfect condition.

The student will benefit from this
5/5

I was surprised by the amount of clay there was. (in high school) made candles using this recipe for a class project. He made a candle that was 8 inches in diameter and an inch thick, with lips 1/2 high on each of the 10 petals. The box only had about a quarter of what he needed. In the end, he had to turn the 'flower' over a few times after it had dried for 2 days. In addition to spray varnish, he let that dry overnight and spray painted red on top of that. In a second step, he poured melted wax into the petals to create the 10 connected candles. Despite the fact that the clay was soft, it was still sturdy enough to handle the project. His candle was presented on a wooden base, but it wasn't nearly as fragile as it appeared after it was It was a nice part that he did not have to heat the clay to set 2 days should be enough for it to dry.

The glass was shattered instantly
3/5

Clays like this are easy to work with, no matter what they are used for. No matter how often you wash it, it always looks soft. All the things I made with it crumbled once they were dry if I applied even the slightest pressure. Due to that reason, it's pretty unusable. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or not.

It is good to use air dry clay
4/5

As with other air dry clays, this one is somewhat prone to cracking and breaking. This is part of the beast's nature, in my opinion.

The clay used for sculpting is more like potter's clay
3/5

It has been my pleasure to work with several air-dry clays The clay has been very dry in my studio as I don't have a kiln, and sadly this wasn't the best clay to sculpt with. Consequently, I don't know what to do with 5 lbs of clay. Normally, I sculpt faces/masks, as well as other sorts of figures, and this clay has a very fine texture that I can't get to do fine detail. While a wheel or pinch molding would work well I imagine that a wheel would be the best! I have made some pots from this, and they were enjoyable. I am not an expert potter, so they look a bit like 5th grade art projects, but they were cool to make. Eventually I painted them and then glazed them to ensure they would last. I would comment that about a quarter inch was the minimum width I was willing to go to ensure no cracking and because the clay is so gritty, it was impossible to add a lot of detail.
