Stamp carving is a favorite activity of my children. You can really feel how the carver cuts through the rubber and how soothing it is to do so. There is no end to its appeal. I've even tried it with my 7 year old. The kids want one set of tools each, so we have gotten a few sets. In comparison to other sets, these tools are of good quality. Their quality is excellent, and they do their job The rubber on the other hand is of Nevertheless, it's highly recommended for beginners to use 2 color rubber. There is almost a border of one color down the middle, almost like on a cream sandwich cookie. The purpose of doing this is to allow you to know when you've dug deep enough, without digging too much. All these rubbers are one color, which is fine. It's just after you've used dual color rubber sheets for a while, it's hard to go back to one color There is no problem with the roller, because it is heavy and good. The roller doesn't have the same quality as playdoh. It's just fine with the ink pads. A lot of the colors are metallic, and I like the variety of colors. The ink pads don't perform very well, though. It is difficult to keep the tops on tightly, and the ink is inconsistent. As an example, I posted a photo of a piece of paper with three random colors that I "inked. " On each paper, I just put the entire ink pad on the paper, and used the roller (on each paper) to flatten and press the ink down evenly and firmly. My ink didn't get solid enough to form solid rectangles. You can see blotches on it. When pressing the stamp into the ink, you should roll it more than once and truly press hard. Or, you can ink the stamp directly into the ink by pressing it as hard as you can. You have to repeat it four Ink pads are easy to stack and snap into each other, which is one of my favorite things about them. This reduces the amount of space they take up. It is highly recommended to stack all four together and then to wrap them with a rubber band or two, as the tops don't stay on well. The set is a good one for a beginner.
However, the stamps themselves are TERRIBLE in this Stamp Carving Kit, since the inks are terrible. I like the rest of this kit quite a bit. My favorite parts of the carving tools and rubber blocks are the carving tools. All of them are of decent quality, and I was able to carve some nice stamps out of them. Using a pair of small tools, I could carve some intricate details, while using a pair of large lino tools I could gouge some larger pieces of rubber. It ended up being a good amount of detail in the stamps I made. Inkpads did work pretty well for getting ink on stamps, but once they were inked by hand and onto a piece of paper or canvas, the pigment was just not enough to make a sharp image. The kit comes with such a multitude of stamps, it is a shame. After using acrylic paint to stamp the images onto canvas (which worked fine, but I had to quickly wipe the rubber), I used sharpie to draw the images. These tools are a great help to me, and I am glad to have them. The stamps I've made so far will be used again and again.
My attempts at carving have yet to begin due to the fact that I am still studying a book about It makes me happy that the set is labeled and that the objects are packaged separately. Although no instructions are included, since I am going to need to read a book about how to make the stamp, but since I can't understand them without a book, I guess that wouldn't make sense as instructions without Despite the set's small size, the stamps that come with it are high quality. The color inks in this set are not ones that I have in my arsenal, so and I was very happy to receive them in this set. Looking forward to making a stamp with my logo, as well as a stamp with my name and address. As a photographer, I still haven't made my own stamps, but I have always seen projects involving this, but I never had the tools to do so. I appreciate receiving this set. It is now my duty to do so. It was an honor to speak with.
Recenty I've gotten into card making and was looking for some stamp sets and tools, so I thought that making my own stamps would be fun. As of now, I'm not too impressed with this set. It's just okay to stamp with the ink- My opinion is that it is not the best and is not likely to last for very As soon as I tried to use the roller, it broke. Despite the fact that these other tools are useful, this whole set is pretty underwhelming. I think I will probably buy something entirely different.
This may be the best investment for someone who intends to stay in it for the long haul. Then again, if you just want to have a little fun with it. I can certainly think of everything that could possibly be in it. It would not be appropriate to give this to someone under the age of 15 or to someone who may have difficulty holding it.
