To sharpen aluminum foil, punch it several times through one or more layers.
I've used it on medium-weight cardstock and it worked fine, but I'm not sure it would cut through a playing card's plastic coating.
It works well on 110 cardstock, so I'm sure it'll work fine here.
I didn't get a punch board because it wasn't advertised with it when I bought it.

With all of the bookmarks I make for my business, this corner punch has made my life a lot easier. I've used each side numerous times, and not only does this tool perform admirably, but it's also incredibly simple to use. I also appreciate having all three punches on one utensil rather than three separate tools. It's also worth noting that thicker papers, such as card stock, work just as well. I would strongly advise other crafters to use this product.
I was making laminated playing cards at the time. I was in a hurry, so I used two 5mm laminates, and it worked perfectly. This is such a sturdy and useful craft tool! ❤️.
Well- Clearly, the product I received was a returned item. When I first opened the envelope, it appeared to be in good condition on the outside, but when I tried to open it, I was taken aback. That had already been done for me by someone else. Someone ripped it right out of the case, as shown in the photos. (When it first appears, there are two round clear stickers on the front that should make it simple to open! But, I suppose, whoever had it before me didn't notice. br>To add insult to injury, there was a small piece of paper in the back. br>br>I figure it'll be more trouble than it's worth returning it. So I decided to just put up with it, and I tested out all three corner punches, which all worked perfectly, so I'm keeping it. br>The packaging issue was a disappointment for me. I was about to buy a bunch of other tools from this company. which I am not at all opposed to. Unless the shipping warehouse missed something. Again- It's a pain to come back. So I'm going to keep it and use it for as long as I can. However, these details should be double-checked.
For the most part, this product works fine, though it does have issues with a single sheet of card stock every now and then. It's also difficult to get your paper to fit into the slot that you want. I like how small it is, because it doesn't take up too much valuable retail space on my work desk. It also has something akin to a non-slip bottom, so it stays put! If it worked better more often than not, I would give it a higher star rating. I have to cut the edges several times to get them just right, which takes time; however, it works well enough that I don't think I need to return it; however, it could be better.
It was turned upside down, resulting in even more precision. It's small but sturdy, and I like that it comes with three options in one punch. It's something I've used on 65-year-olds. With no issues, I used both lb and 80lb cardstock. I would strongly suggest it.
It's worth it to spend the extra cash on a Crop-Up. Instead of using this corner cutter, you could use a dile. It could cut through one card stick sheet at a time, but it frequently left one side intact. 3 mil laminate is also too thick for this small cutter to cut through.
Even though it felt like the paper was inserted correctly, the smallest corner was difficult to line up correctly from above and notched oddly. However, turning the unit over and seeing exactly what was going to be cut worked perfectly. I like having three sizes to choose from, and the cuts were all smooth when the paper was properly lined up.
I was inspired to use this to round the corners of my Erin Condren planner by a fellow planner owner. The rounded corner aesthetic appeals to me, and it complements the planner's rounded interior design. This also eliminates the problem of bent corners, which I despise. I also intend to use it in the future for any invitations or cards, as this always adds to the cost per card - Now I'm able to complete the task on my own. I also appreciate the versatility of having three different roundness styles. This is a fantastic little tool. It takes some getting used to, but once you get into a rhythm, it's incredibly simple.
