No, Eileen, you don't need to prewash this batting. br>With heartfelt gratitude,br>Jayne
The batting, on the other hand, is white and extremely thin. Quilting is a lot of fun, especially hand quilting, and it will now be visible.

When I bought three packages of batting, Cellar_Door_Books was the vendor. I took a chance and re-checked them all, and they were all wrong; however, I took a chance and re-checked them all. ordered from AQCO - and bang! They were exactly what I wanted and arrived on time. br>br>Please, please, please! Customers, Amazon, and everyone else - Keep track of which seller is on the market on any given day when you log in. Cellar_Door_Books should be avoided at all costs as a vendor - horrible! AQCO hit the mark, and I wouldn't hesitate to order this item from them again if it's still available. br>br>While I enjoy the Dream Cotton quilting, I despise it when my orders are delivered in sizes or styles that I did not specify. br>br>EDIT: 6/24/18: Whoever is responsible for fulfilling Amazon's orders needs to step up their game. br>br>I've ordered this from Amazon before with no problems, but this time I ordered three of the natural, throw size. There are two white throws and one crib! HUH? br>br>Amazon, raise your game a notch. While I enjoy this batting, I will not be ordering anything else from you in the future.
- EDIT: br>br> 2/18/18: On February 14, 2018, I made a second purchase of this item (I bought two of the 60" X 60" Throw size) - I'm irritated as well as dissatisfied. br>br>This morning, I went to lay out a quilt, only to discover that the batting was not the size stated, so my quilt hung over with insufficient batting to use. I have a 59 X 59 top, so I knew the 60 X 60 would fit perfectly. br>br>Well, if it's 60 X 60, that is. She sent me a photo. Two inches short! Those two inches make a big difference.
- br>br>Now I know why it's called Quilter's Dream - it's because it's a quilter's dream. because it is the case. br>br>Over the years, I've sewn many quilts and used batting from various manufacturers. I purchased it in advance. I've bought it by the bolt and cut it in packages, but I've never been able to find batting that made quilting easier and produced excellent results. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow It was the batting that did it. Because I don't have a long arm, I quilt with a traditional Bernina machine, and the amount of fuzz, fluff, and lint produced by other batting was enough to make me pull my hair out and give up quilting. br>br>However, that isn't the case anymore. This batting is true to size, has no ripples or imperfections, does not emit fuzz that gets caught in my presser foot, and handles beautifully. Despite its thin appearance, the quilt I made with Dream Cotton was about the same weight and warmth as other quilts I'd made with higher lofts, but it was much more supple and draped beautifully. br>br>I ordered Natural Cotton in a variety of sizes to complete projects that I had started months before. I was quilting a top made primarily of Kona white cotton fabric, and the natural did not show through as a darker shade. Gorgeous! br>br>From here on out, this is the batting I'll be using. It is, without a doubt, the best I have ever seen. br>br>Just in case you didn't know - If you buy within a few inches of your quilt top, you will not be able to stretch the batting to fit. I bought the 60 X 60 to finish a 56 X 56 quilt top. With a little trimming around the edges, it fit perfectly. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have fit if I had a 65 X 65 top on. This isn't your average craft project. Batting from a store.
They get stuck in the fabric of the sofa and all over the place - blah - This is not something I would recommend to anyone. It started out as a simple. This product has made me very unhappy - I needed a thinner batting for hand quilting a light weight quilt, which is exactly what I got. I like how light it is for the quilt I'm working on. BUT it's pilling, and little cotton fluffs are falling off - It leaves little off white puffs of batting wherever I sit to quilt - After this quilt is finished, I'm going to have to do a lot of cleaning. They get stuck in the fabric of the sofa and all over the place - blah - This is not something I would recommend to anyone. It started out as a minor annoyance, but after quilting about a third of the quilt, it became a deal breaker, and I decided not to use it again. Because the reviews were all positive, I purchased it. So, I'm not sure if I got a rejection or not. However, hand piecing and quilting are far too time consuming to try again. Because this is a baby quilt, I'm hoping it will withstand a lot of washing once it's finished. Other quilters, beware! br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The quilt is approximately completed right now and the batting is still "pilling" - BUT I LOVE THE WAY THE QUILT LOOKS AFTER THE HAND QUILTING IS COMPLETE - It does a great job of showcasing the handiwork. As a result, I've reduced my rating to three stars - Unless it was for the "pilling: I'd rate it as a five-star product.
I bought it because it was unusual to see "chemical-free" on a product description. bindings" People are looking for this in their materials, so I would advise the company to make sure it is on the front label!.
I'm dissatisfied with how small this batting order has become. I tumbled it briefly to remove the wrinkles before sandwiching my quilt as I always do, but it became too small for my project; I measured it before tumbling and it was more than enough for my 60x60 throw blanket. I'll have to put it to work on a smaller project for the time being. It's possible that I'll have to switch to a different brand.
I was annoyed because I wasted time waiting for this to arrive in the mail rather than picking it up locally. I received a different weight of batting than what was shown in the listing photos, and it will not work for my project.
My product had two very sharp needles in it when it arrived. There were two metal pieces that appeared to be staple remnants. I nicked my finger on them, and I'm glad I didn't give the quilt a rude awakening.
I'm a big fan of this batting! When I use this loft, my quilts become thinner, which I like. On previous quilts, I used medium loft and polyester batting, but this batting is far superior. From now on, it will be my "go to" batting style.
I liked how light it was. I made about 35 soup cozies, and the lighter weight made things so much easier. The first ten were made with heavier batting, and my machine struggled to get through the thickness. It's great that it can be used in the microwave.
