This foot works great on an older Singer low shank machine; it doesn't snap on, but it attaches easily and does a great job once you remove the entire foot assembly.

I'm not sure whether it's a high shank or a low shank, but I took a chance because another reviewer said it fit their machine, and I have the same machine, and VIOLA! It's official: I've started a company! It fits my Singer Confidence 7640 sewing machine with a low shank, and using it has been the highlight of my life. Have you ever tried darning a torn bedsheet by hand? Please don't waste your time! If you get this sewing attachment, you'll be looking for things to mend all over the house. WOW! ps. Because I now know my machine is definitely low shank, I'm pretty sure I could have gotten a cheaper one. But I'm pleased with this one. A transparent ring would be preferable.
It does not work with my Singer HD 105C machine, which was listed on the list of machines it is compatible with. I discovered it did not fit my machine correctly after installing it, practicing with it, and watching a video. It doesn't move up and down; instead, it clings to the fabric, making quilting difficult.
It's the perfect size for my Singer. I'm not sure when my skills will improve, but I'm currently free motion quilting a quilt top that I recently finished. I had a hard time finding one that would work with my machine, but this one did.
One of them worked okay, but when quilting intricate designs, you need the foot to be steady, secure the fabric, and allow you to see what you're doing. This foot is a perfect fit for my sewing machine. holds the quilt sandwich in place and allows me to see where I want to stitch clearly. It should fit any machine with a low shank. I have a Singer Confidence Quilter that does everything I could ask of a sewing machine, and this foot has just added another feature that I really like.
I'm a beginner sewer, but after watching one online video, I was able to figure it out. On my machine, it's a breeze to use.
I looked through other people's questions to see if this would work for a Singer model 1304, and I found that it would with the darning plate, according to the manufacturer. This does not work for that singer model, as I discovered after ordering. The "Handle/lever" on the foot leaves no room for the needle handle (adjust/tighten needles) and thus prevents the foot from moving up or down. If you put the foot in front of the needle handle, the machine will not be properly secured.
The first time I used a freemotion foot that bounced, it broke. The pin that holds the needle holder in place broke. br>br>I was looking for something more durable, and I found it in this foot! I have a Singer Rocketeer with a slant shank and a Singer Confidence Quilter with a short shank, and it worked perfectly on both!.
