There is a disclaimer on the package that warns not to use the brush with water or water-based In any case, I'm going to use it It will work just fine, in my opinion.
It is true. If you want to use odorless mineral spirits, Turpenoid is a good choice. Make sure to use the rag or paper towel in a ventilated area and to store it in an airtight
Having owned several of Bob Ross brushes and teaching art, I am very familiar with his work. To keep them in the same soft condition, I have found the following to be effective After using brushes, DO NOT forget to clean It is what I have done to You can use odorless paint thinner to remove oil paint, and it is not necessary to Leaving these particular bristles clean, soft, and without the smell of the thinner alone will enable the thinner to dry quickly. The bristles of these particular brushes will be ruined by acrylic paint.
There is no hog hair in them. There is a stiffer bristle brush made of hog hair called a bristle brush.

My first paintings were done with brushes, and I did not believe they would make a huge difference. I DID! WAIT, THIS DOES! It was a bit of a challenge getting my tree and grass to look realistic. It's just a matter of more practice, I thought to myself. I knew I wasn't getting much better at my paintings, so I did some research and discovered these brushes had plenty of So I figured what the hell, I'll give it a shot. After receiving the brush, I had such a sense of excitement that I threw this painting together very quickly just to see how the grass and tree would look. Great job! I am very impressed! A nice added benefit is that the brushes are much easier to clean than the cheap brushes I was using. In the meantime, I am slowly purchasing each of the brushes with each pay check (so that it is not a huge expense at once). This is my favorite brush set.
The brush they show you on their website is definitely a legit brush since it says made in America and the picture is correct. The thing is, it's a fake, it is a German manufacture. THE PICTURE IS NOT OF THE BRUSH LIST AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE, EVEN IF I COMPARE MY BRUSH TO WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. TOMORROW I will call Amazon to let them know I'm up in arms about this. This is false advertising. There is literally a brush with his name on it I'd guess that the brush is priced at $2. It's a shame.
The Bob Ross brush shown here is not the real thing. Buying is not a good idea. An oval brush I ordered from Bob Ross' website is shown on the left. A 1 inch brush can be seen on the right. The simple act of looking at it can tell you a lot. Here's a picture from the first time I used it and cleaned it. On the left, all the bristles sprayed away after the brush was laid on a rack to dry after it could not be cleaned.
Despite my mixed feelings about it, I still use it. While I like the wide coverage it provides and the ability to draw detailed landscapes with it, I find it difficult to use in landscapes. On the other hand, the quality is terrible. As you can see from the photos, the paint has chipped off the handle, exposing rough wood that I am concerned will cause me to get There's less than a week since I got this brush! As well as the bristles breaking off into my painting, the brush sheds a lot (more than I would expect from a quality paintbrush). In the case of shedding, you can very clearly see the long hair, but when the hair breaks into smaller pieces, it can be hard to notice, and sometimes you discover it only after the paint has dried (like when you cannot get it out). The overall result was okay. I would have probably chosen a better option if I knew what it was, however I'm a novice and there wasn't another option available at my local art store, so I was stuck with it. In addition, I think it's quite expensive for the poor quality that.
I accidentally smeared my painting with the bristles of this brush the first time I used it. Further, it had a hard time holding its shape. This is the last time I will paint with it. In this case, I am very disappointed. It is not something I would recommend.
First, let's look at cons Unlike previous versions, this brush is currently not made as well as it used to. As for the quality, I'd like to see Martin / F Weber get back to the old days. This thing seems like it's going to fall apart a lot sooner than The pros are Having said that, it is still a great brush for painting with the shape of the handle and the shape of the bristles are good, as is the weight.
This brush has been used on over 45 oil paintings that I have painted. 2016 was the year when I bought it. There are also cheaper natural bristle brushes out there, but they lack the same level of blending. The brush has not caused any problems for me based on reading other reviews. Bob Ross brushes have all done a good job for me and I own a full set. If you plan to use acrylic paint, do not use them. It is essential to use a stiffer brush with Bob Ross paints because they are thick. An oil paintbrush made of synthetic materials is not suitable for oil painting. The cons are This was a very expensive visit but it was well worth it. The only problem is that they are few and far between.
Those who are familiar with Bob Ross would be ashamed of themselves. This brush cost me more than I usually spend on brushes because I was confident it would be high-quality. Still, after one use, it frayed so badly at the bottom it is now more like a 1. 5 inch brush that does not have Better brushes were purchased from the corner hardware store for a quarter of the price of the stale ones I have in the garage.
