This little kit has everything you need, and then some, for applying acrylic paint to wooden carvings, which I've recently taken up. While the brushes are nylon, rather than sable, squirrel, or unicorn hair, they are durable and low maintenance, which is ideal for my application. I do have a collection of striping and sable brushes, but I wouldn't want to use them for this job. It's more cost-effective to use this less expensive set for tough jobs, and changing the color or returning to the case is as simple as a rinse and pat dry. The brush selection covers a wide range of applications, with a brush for almost any job that most hobbyists or even professionals are likely to encounter. It is capable of handling jobs ranging from fine detail work to medium sign painting. The fact that you only get one of each size is a minor drawback, but for the price, I'll just order another set when they wear out, which shouldn't be for a long time unless I mess up (which is usually how my brushes die). br>The case is nice, and it's a big selling point for me because I need somewhere to put my stuff or it'll end up in a box of "stuff" from my previous job. With a velcro pop-up closure, the case keeps everything in its place for those like me who need a specific place to put 'it' away. It has a nice wake-up feature, but it isn't really useful for my purposes. The set includes a small spatula and sponge, which I don't really need, but they don't raise the price enough to make it a big deal. Personally, I'd rather have a few spares than the extra tools, but that's just me. Stick to your squirrel and sable specialty brushes if you're doing high-end work like striping cars or painting motorcycles, but for hobby or general painting, these fit the bill nicely for a fraction of the price. br>This set pairs well with an 18-piece acrylic paint set for everything from keeping the kids occupied for the afternoon to painting signage for your front window, and if cared for (clean em, dry em, and put em away), should last a long time.
I bought this for myself because I was sick of ruined brushes from keeping them in a tin with paint tubes. It appears that this will suffice. Inside the case, the brushes are neatly organized. I figured out how to raise them, but I'm not sure I'll use it. The sponge appears to be small and thin. I chose this set over others because of the angled brushes, sizes, and the addition of a pallet knife. I'm excited to put it to use.
This kit includes everything you'll need, whether you're a beginner or an expert. br>br>Nice brushes in general. br>Easy to transport case. br>br>I've purchased a number of different brush sets on this site, and this is my favorite.
These were purchased as a gift for my best friend, who is interested in learning to paint. They arrived in two days and were exactly as depicted in the photographs. The case was of good quality, and the paintbrushes appeared to be of good quality, with a few even having a bristle covering. The flat half circle brush was a little messed up, but otherwise these appear to be a great product. (It appeared to be a straightforward fix. ).
The brushes are nice, but the product isn't what it appears to be. The case and the ability to prop it up was one of the things that drew me in. That is not the case with the one I received! That makes me feel a little let down.
I'm currently painting reborn doll kits, for instance.
I'm not an artist by trade, but I needed some brushes for some fine detail work. These brushes have performed admirably and are easy to clean. Brushes that are especially good for the price.
They were given to me as part of a package deal with another item I bought, and they were not cheap brushes. I'm very happy. I'd accept it as a gift again, and I'd even buy it for myself.
