Yes, the kit comes with a few tools, but I went out and purchased some more.
All of the spaces are filled with diamonds. Only the white boarder around the picture remains sticky, which you cut off to fit into the frame. Enjoy this simple, quick, and enjoyable project.

This is a sweet project that we purchased for our 8-year-old daughter's birthday. It's quite lovely! It can be difficult to read the numbers at times. The wand that came with it broke on the first use, which is my only real complaint. Now we must use our fingertips to apply the product, which can be difficult. I gave it four stars because it's a lovely project, but I would have given it two and a half stars if it didn't include a sturdy wand, which is an essential component of the kit!.
This was my second order of a diamond painting kit for my granddaughters. On the bottom third of this turtle canvas, there was no adhesive. My eight-year-old granddaughter was disappointed, and her mother is going to try gluing the gems in place with clear craft glue. Although quality control is unacceptable, my girl had invested so much time in it that she did not want to return it. This product would have gotten a five star rating if it wasn't for the fact that it was defective.
I adored it so much that it's now hung on the wall of my bathroom for all to see. Since then, I've completed a few more. Don't be afraid to try it!.
Once completed, this is a sweet project. BUT BEWARE. . . The gem quantity provided for the turtle picture is overly generous because it has more of each color than you may need (because the gems are small and can be dropped) and the small tray provided is of good quality. . . The issue is first, the pick-up. The included "pen" is ineffective because it does not adhere to the gems. If you use it, the wax will go too far up the pen point to be effective, and there will be insufficient wax to do so. So I picked up the individual gems with a pair of slanted tweezers. Also, the part that is supposed to adhere the gems' backs to the picture does not peel off. So I had to use glue on all of them, and the only transparent glue I had was super glue, which you must use with caution because it can stick to your fingers if not used properly. This is the glue I chose because it is clear and will not show up on the finished picture. Because the glue is irritating if breathed in, I also wore a double mask and took breaks. So, while I like the finished product, the project cost more than I expected due to a lack of a usable pick-up instrument and wax, as well as the lack of sticky backs on the beads, necessitating the use of glue and tweezers. Also, while the frame is attractive, it lacks a cover for the finished photograph, which would become dirty over time if left on display. I covered the front of it with a piece of clear plastic that I also had to provide; all in all, it's a crafts project that could use a lot of work. The instructions are a little hazy, but they're easy to figure out based on the color pattern on the picture, as long as you use the correctly labeled gems on the correct letters/colors. Overall, it was not worth the money due to the high cost of tweezers, as well as the glue and plastic covering I supplied. CERTAINLY NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN.
We haven't tried this project yet, but my granddaughters, ages 6 and 10, have done something similar in the past, and I was blown away by how much fun they had. It kept them occupied for hours, and I finished the one for the six-year-old and found it to be a very relaxing project, with clear instructions and a frame for the finished product.
This is a big hit with my 7-year-old! And it keeps him occupied. br>br>It takes some patience and focus time, but it's fun to bring it out, do a section, see the progress, and return the next day. Because there are so many small pieces, make sure your child isn't spilling the gems all over the place.
This was purchased as a gift for my elderly mother. She's been wanting to paint a diamond for a long time.
I don't know how any kid, let alone an adult, can place these teeny tiny sequin bits, so I'll put it off for a few years and see if my daughter can handle it when she's older. She's only seven years old, and there's no way she could do it now.
