Just got this, so I have no idea about its durability or leak resistance. Yet the size of the container is perfect. Even brush holders 2 inches long fit comfortably in there. Brushes will obviously tip over if you leave them soaking in it for an extended period of time. The Gamsol Strainer is just the right size because the container sits low enough to allow for your brushes to be cleaned without having to pour a large amount of material into it. If the cup is larger than five ounces, you must pour five or more ounces of the solvent into it in order to use it. We are wasting our time and feeling uneasy. It will spill if it does. Exactly what I was looking for.
A little smaller than I have used before with other compact pots for plein air work. A great painting for short oil sketches, this one is not bulky and is perfect for carrying on the go. An average jam is a little bit larger To give a sense of size, here is a jar.
My opinion is that it is a very small computer for the price. In addition, the handle is falling off constantly. I still think this is cute, however. The brush barely fits in it, but does the job when I use it for cleaning my 2 inch varnish brush. The construction isn't perfect, and for the cost, it could be larger and better constructed.
The seal on this can is very good, so there are no leaks. When I am at class I can take my brush cleaner with me and keep my Turpenoid in it as my brush cleaner.
If you want to use oil paint on this, be sure to put it on a stable, flat surface to prevent it from crumbling. The overall effect is good to me.
This is a little smaller than I expected it to be for the larger paintbrushes, but for the smaller ones, it's worth it.
This is what I use to clean my semi-truck The 3M accuspray gun comes with disposable tips. Gaskets filled with acetone have not swelled or softened even though they are filled with acetone. Happy to have found this!.
A class on oil painting required mineral spirits, and I bought this for that purpose. I was pleased with it. It's easy to use, didn't leak, and was great for brushing.
