Questions & Answers

Do you have a smell for the product? In that case, is it like alcohol, ammonia, bleach, oil, or is it something altogether different?

When I used it, I couldn't detect a smell.

The Noodler's Baystate Blue is not coming out of the pen. Can it be removed?

That might be something Nathan can answer for you I did watch the videos of Brian Goulet of gouletpens, though. In order to clean the inside of the demonstrator pen which had been stained by black ink, water and bleach is used. My handout explains the properties of the Noodler's inks, and Baystate Blue doesn't appear to be In addition to being UV-resistant, it is impervious to lasers, solvents, and alcohols, making it suitable as a security document. My recommendation would be to go to Gouletpens. You can chat with us by clicking on the green chat tab on our site between 9 am and 5 pm eastern time. A member of the customer service team will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding pen and ink.

What is the compatibility between this and fountain pens?

As well as cleaning dip pen nibs, I've used it to clean fountain pens that have gotten ink on them. My father's Parker 51 pen had been sitting with dried ink inside it for over 60 years before I was able to use this cleaner to successfully clean it. The script now works perfectly and has for at least 5 years, despite the time it took and the patience required.

The Speedball cleaner that comes in the two (2) ounce container is this the same as that?

To follow on Jessica's comment, Speedball's website only shows one Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for a product named The MSDS for Speedball's "Pen Cleaner" would have to be published twice if the two sizes are different. The two sizes of the utensil contain the same liquid, so I believe this can be implied.

Cleaning is effortless with this product
5/5

Over the last two years, I have been using this Speedball Pen Cleaner to clean my fountain pens, and I have to say that it makes cleaning them a great deal First, I flush it with water, then soak it in water and finally wipe it off with the Speedball cleaner and a quick rinse with water. Noodler's Speedball cleaner does not interfere with permanent ink (like Noodler's) and easily cleans non-permanent inks like you'd expect. These are inks that can be used permanently. As a testament to its quality, I had a friend give me a Jinhao pen he had left inked for several months with the cap mostly untouched Quite a crusty scab of dried ink covered the nib and the feed of the pen. Water was my only option to start, but I was not successful. Ink dried from the nib and feed when I soaked them overnight in the Speedball cleaner, so I was able to just rinse them It was difficult to get a good clean of the nib because I had to disassemble it, but if I had not had the Speedball cleaner, the nib might still be soaking.

It gives antique pens a new lease on life! My review was longer, but when I went to take a picture I had everything deleted! There are a lot of times when this happens in eBay's review system
5/5

However, it came out very well and I was able to clean out a noodler bulletproof in just four fills and pours! I am very impressed with the quality, and even though there is a slight sticky feeling to it, it does not have a bad odor. The cap itself has an ingenious spout to keep the liquid from spilling out quickly. I had to use a generous amount for the lever fill, and it looked like it came straight out of the bottle, even when I didn't take anything out of it. I don't know what I would do without this much, but its definitely worth the price! With the oz plus the price + the quality it has to be the best deal online!.

Pens work well with this product
4/5

This works well on most everyday clothes that have been soiled by fountain pen ink. The cleaner I had decided to buy on Amazon had a negative review saying it destroyed fountain pens so I bought this cleaner instead The cleaner they recommended instead is this one. My purchase of the Speedball pen cleaner was prompted by only one negative review since I was buying it to use on my father's Parker 51 fountain pen I had inherited recently to try and remove dried ink and hardened pigment that had been contained since its arrival over 62 years ago. In the end, it took me about 3 months of daily cleaning to get the nerve to fill the pen bladder and take it out. The review made me glad I read it over the night, but was it ever worth it! It's a joy to see my father's pen write so well today. My daily life is made more enjoyable by it. In the end, all the research I did and all the cleaning I did, combined with the joy I discovered the first time I could write with the pen, left me with a new hobby - writing! You can still get fountain pens and bottled ink today! My only reason for giving Speedball four stars instead of five is because of the sudsing of the solution, which I assume is not the actual solution During the cleaning process, no sudsing ammonia was used. For some pen models, especially the Parker 51, that's alright, but it's a real pain to clean as many suds out of the pen as possible.

This pen cleaner is mild and effective
5/5

As a fountain pen collector, I have quite a few pens. Regardless of the pen I am using, I love writing with it, and I regularly switch inks and pens. How to clean them is always the challenge. Water flushing is usually the first thing I do to get things moving. Ink that has been sitting for a while or is a tenacious color can be sonicated if it is sitting for any length of time. There are times when even this isn't enough. As a result, I decided to order a bottle of this product.

Because of the use of this pen cleaning solution, I am able to I. 1. Worked like a charm! To prepare the nib, I soak it for a few minutes The capacity of the reservoir is 20 million gallons Follow this process for 30 minutes, then flush again. My shot glass works every time. For this I usually use a small glass (shot glass). Since it is so good, I haven't even had to put it in an ultrasonic cleaner. As a result of removing ink, the metal looks fantastic. 1. *br. There is no toxic substance in the product! It's a great benefit because I don't have to worry about the fluid leaking out, worrying about pets or kids getting into it, etc. It's white, odorless, and colorless. 1. 2. 3. You only need a little bit to make a huge difference. My bottle has been used for about 10 percent of the total number of nibs that I cleaned. When this bottle runs out, I plan to order another one. I highly recommend this product and believe it to be a great value.

I'm not interested in ink anymore! Well, maybe I'm in love with Ink gets clogged once in a while in my fountain pens, but it gets a little expensive to replace them, so I prefer the gel inky pens
4/5

I think this is a very good Pens, calligraphic or technical instruments can be made from it. Ink and highlighter can produce dust, so I am not sure how they would clean the wall your child put ink/highlighter Depending on the amount of dirt and crud you have to remove from the pens, this can be a bit pricey.

Wow! I have no words to describe how I feel! The problem is that I love using fountain pens, but they get put away for a long time and are difficult I have tried all the solutions that I have read about and have never had success
5/5

Speedball 16 sparked my curiosity, so I put the tips in the glass for just a few minutes and was blown away by the liquid. I noticed that in some cases, the ink used in my pen looked like the original. It works really well. I've only tried writing with one of the pens I cleaned, but it worked fine. You won't believe how clean the tip gets when you use this. This is a product I will buy.

I have found the best
5/5

It is my favorite tool for all the things I have to do. The main thing I do is keep track of the household budget, write letters, and do an ample amount of drawing in ink, as well as calligraphy. In addition to fountain pens, parallel pens, and a variety of dip pens, I often incorporate them into my work. There is no better cleaner that I have found for cleaning all kinds of writing instruments.

A new fountain pen is like receiving a whole bunch of them! Do you know how awesome this stuff is? I had been able to reclaim about five fountain pens so far that just weren't writing well, and have also had successful success in completely rehabilitating a pen that was gifted to me a decade ago but which I never used
5/5

It couldn't be easier to use the pen cleaner - just follow these instructions This is a great product, I use it several times, then refill from the big bottle (which is a real bargain, by the way - how much cheaper can you get anyway - It will probably last me quite a while, and I'll save many pens in the process! I love it. )
