The canvas appears to be a good product on the surface, although I am very disappointed in its length, as it is 116 inches instead of the advertised 120 inches (10 feet). The 120" length of this product will not fit in a painting if you plan to use it all. After I see how the canvas takes paint, I will update this review. Taking the time to paint this canvas was a great decision. I really like how the painting turned out. The fabric is easily stiched and well suited for watercolour. However, it's not quite 10' tall.
I make the frames myself, so it has the same look and feel as a reverse canvas. HTV sticks well to it and is of great quality. The product has been ordered three times so far and I will order more when I need them.
A quality canvas has to be on the market at an affordable price for me as an artist. However, the quality must be there first. Canvases like this are fantastic. This is a tough, primed piece of wood that can be stretched on stretcher bars or adhered to MDF to paint with oils, acrylics, and mixed media that aren't too heavy. Although it does not have a good tooth yet, you might be able to do so with some 400-grit smoothing by hand. I only have one quip to share with you. Putting a core tube in the box to roll the item onto during shipping was the right thing to do since it wasn't 5 feet long. As the canvas came in a great big Amazon box well protected from being damaged, it has terrible ripples and wrinkles that rather frankly I don't have the time to steam or iron out. Really I am giving the canvas five stars because of how well it is packaged. If you want to keep the ripples out, add an extra $2 and a cardboard tube. It does matter to receive what you paid for, so give me the 5 feet next time, not 52 inches.
Overall I like the product, but I specifically needed it for a project I was working on, and we did not get 5 feet of the roll as advertised. In my case, it is a huge inconvenience since I needed it precisely as it says on the product.
When I opened the beautifully sealed canvas, it was in perfect condition. On the primed side of the canvas, there is a small crack and a warp.
Although it arrived in time, it was damaged. As it was rolled without a support, it was “squished,” and it has been folded on all four sides The sound is similar to that of an accordion. SO IT WOULD BE SOFT! WILL HAVE TO BE ROLLED AROUND A SUPPORT! I find it unfortunate and stupid. It would be perfect if it was. I hope I can remove the.
The priming is excellent. It was important to me that the quality be good. The product is excellent and I will definitely buy it.
