It is my goal to create reproductions of clothing from the 18th century. The purpose of purchasing this item was to use it to bind the new set of stays I bought. I used this tape for this process and it worked well. Once the binding was applied to one site, I was able to shape it around corners easily, and adjust the binding width as needed. Making stays is the most difficult part, especially when it comes to binding the tips of the fingers. I have used several types of tape in the past and this worked the best. On both sides, I was able to create nice round curves. It is usually one of my least favorite parts, but the tape made it somewhat easier. The washability of the fabric is not known to me. There is no washing of stays. The 'boning' in these items is made of cane. It is very important to us that they are kept clean. We wash them and change the linens underneath them frequently. It is hard to imagine I will ever use the whole roll, even though I bought the big roll. The overall experience has been very positive for me.
After being washed, the hat was all wrinkled up and wasn't a full half inch diameter.
Despite the delivery date being a few days ago, I received the package earlier. Since I only received it yesterday, I didn't get a chance to work with it. It's a great material, but I didn't get to test it. You will be provided with an update.
Despite shipping in a neat roll, this twill tape was easy to use and arrived promptly. It was intended for the reinforcement of seams and the attaching of belts to tolls.
We had trouble finding it at 2 inches wide.
As ties for masks, I used the fabric. The tie was perfect, but you need to tie a knot in the end to keep it from.
My mistake was ordering this thinking it was bias tape in one fold. Although it appears to be designed for what it was intended for, it would work well.
