Questions & Answers

Does it breathe if I use these to make a weighted blanket? Despite being described as breathable, I purchased and returned a blanket because it was extremely hot. ?

I believe it depends on the material used to make it, but they don't appear to make me hot. I had to remove the blanket because of the weight after I fell asleep.

Is it possible to sew over or through this? Sewing through batting in the same way?

On everything I made, I only used outside heams. Despite my efforts to keep the beads away from the sticks line, they continued to roll towards the area. I simply sewed slowly and carefully.

Is there a cpsc certificate for pthalates/lead on these?

Unknown. You'll have to contact the manufacturer to find out.

Is it possible to heat glass beads?

I did some research before purchasing these beads, and while I haven't heated or dried them, I did do some research. I made a weighted blanket out of them. Many sources claim that the beads can be dried on low heat.

Beads in cups, 18 The beads are extremely small, which makes for an excellent product
5/5

When dealing with them, using glass rather than plastic is extremely beneficial. When you open the bag, make certain you have a place to put them. There were about 18 cups of beads in my 15 pound bag.

Excellent craftsmanship
5/5

I'm glad I switched from plastic pellets to wood pellets. I had no idea they were so cost-effective. I'm glad I switched to these instead of plastic pellets. They are more expensive, but you use a lot less of them. Only about 3 tablespoons are required to weigh a seated doll. This is something that will never end. If I had known beforehand, I would have placed a lower order. These aren't like sand; they're rounded, and they don't leave any visible dimples in the fabric. A needle can easily be inserted through them. This is an excellent product.

It does exactly what I need it to do
5/5

A 20 was the result of my efforts. I made an 8-pound weighted blanket for my pregnant daughter and am currently working on a 5-pound blanket for my grandson. Because the beads are smooth and rounded, they don't catch on the fabric as much as other beads do when filling the blanket. This is an excellent item.

Ideal for use with a weighted blanket
4/5

This item is exactly what it says on the package. If you want to make your own weighted blankets, small glass beads can be used. These beads must be handled with care because they have the potential to spill and create a mess. They are packaged in a strong plastic bag. Make sure you have a safe place to store them once they've been opened.

Beads made of glass that can be used to make art
5/5

It's amazing how quickly it arrives, and it's well-packaged so the delicately crafted beads don't fall out of the box. This is my second purchase.

I ordered these to make a weighted blanket for a student who lives far away from our school
5/5

They feel like sand. They came in a box with a heavy-duty plastic bag inside. I wanted them to feel like sand, so that's what I did. In the individual squares of the blanket, the beads also move around like sand.
