There are just circles, it is used for a fake cake I made.
You would have to throw very hard and be skilled at it to determine that. A piece of Styrofoam is used for this. It makes sense to try an item packed in styrofoam if you receive it.
If you use Elmer's Glue, it won't affect the cleat at all, and if you use a glue stick, it won't affect it either.
Generally, I wouldn't recommend them, only because they are not hard and sturdy enough. Foam circles are what they are. During my wedding, I used mine as a centerpiece.

I had problems working with it, but it somehow worked out. The only difference between the Dollar Tree sparkling styrofoam rounds I would normally spend 10 minutes on and the two days I spent spackleing! Spackling had to be allowed to dry while I was taking breaks. Usually I use the same spackling I use all the time, but it didn't stick! The paint had to be applied multiple times, and I had to wait until each layer dried, otherwise it would fall off with the pieces Originally, I was going to make my project smooth, but I had to make it textured to cover up all the mess I made. There was a lot of styrofoam breaking out on the edges, as it was very chunky and loose. Though I was nearly giving up, I somehow managed to complete the project. My next purchase will not be this one! As I recall, I chose not to take pictures or videos during the entire I took two days to make something that would normally only take me 30 minutes. There is 1 inch of thickness between them. Moreover, this is a very porous type of styrofoam, making it unsuitable for a painting project.
One wish I would have had is that there were additional sizes or a tool sent with the order that allowed me to resize the hard to resize an image without creating a great deal of mess, cleanup, or waste. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to get it all right.
