I used it to reupholster a couch's seat cushions. It was an excellent solution. It all depends on the couch when it comes to back cushions. Make sure it's not too thick, though. br>The rest could be tmi, but it might be useful. From edge seam to edge seam, the foam should be one inch larger than the measurement. My couch cushions, for example, were 22 inches long, 23 inches wide, and 5 inches deep, so I cut the foam into squares that were 23 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 6 inches deep.
No, density refers to the foam's lifespan, whereas compression rating/ILD refers to the firmness or softness of the foam. The density of a foam is measured per cubic foot, so a 3 inch and a 5 inch foam can both have the same density and firmness.
Dear Customer, br>br>We can cut 12 inch foams, but not 72 inch foams. These units are compressed in a box, and compressing a 12 inch foam with that length will ruin the compression rating, causing it to become soft. You can always use upholstery glue to join two pieces together, making it nearly impossible to separate them.

I was worried it wouldn't be enough because my couch's original cushions contained springs and foam, but I bought firm foam (5"x24"x72"), cut it to fit my cushion cases, and it's like having a brand new couch! This is fantastic.
My couch cushions had to be replaced because my boyfriend was a jerk and washed the entire cushion in the washing machine. All 3. Surprisingly, they developed a musty odor. I ordered this, and it fits my couch perfectly without needing to be trimmed, and it is far more comfortable than I expected. I'm typing this just minutes after covering it and placing it on my couch. I wish I'd done it earlier. My boyfriend won't be able to fit it in the washing machine if I leave it as one large cushion.
But, based on the looks of it, I think I could finish this one and make one or two more with just this foam! c is a must-have.
Then I saw this product, and all I can say is "wow!" It took me about 30 minutes to replace both bottom cushions, and all I have to say is "wow!" " It's like getting a new sofa! I cut the foam to size with a regular kitchen carving knife before wrapping it in new batting sheets.
I needed to replace the memory foam in my bed, and this was ideal because it was the right length and firm enough for a 200-pound person to sleep comfortably on. We like it a lot.
For my kitchen table, I ordered two rolls of this product. Great foam that sits firm and is great all around!.
If you believe you are purchasing FIRM upholstery foam, you are mistaken. The old upholstery foam in our leather couch cushions was replaced with this GO TO FOAM. It's the same firmness as our previous foam. Squeezing this 6 inch foam between your thumb and index finger can reduce it to one inch, as shown in the attached photos. To top it off, you'll have to pay for the return if you're unhappy with your purchase.
When you sit on it, it doesn't collapse to the ground. This is exactly what I needed to replace the cushions on my couch.
