I like the size of the holes, but it also makes the needles thinner

Though I like the larger holes, the needle thickness would also be much larger than a standard needle and so wouldn't be practical for my needs.

It's too thick for embroidery to use these needles. Regardless of the size of the needle's eyes, the overall width makes it useless for needlework or sewing on fine threads. Burlap or canvas can be used for this project. It's a big deal when you poke a hole in fabric with a needle.
