Both sides of the buckle are the same. For proper use, you'll need the sliding clips. They keep the loose ends of the strap close to the belt, making it stronger and easier to adjust. Only the sliding clip is used to create a loop. I believe I purchased 50 clips (adjusters) in a box. These are of excellent quality and are extremely durable. The belting is excellent at 1". The weight capacity of these buckles is around 325 pounds.
The male and female ends will not be able to connect due to various models and molds. To make sure the buckles buckle properly, I recommend replacing both ends of the buckles.
Please accept my apologies; I am currently residing in Florida. We aren't bothered by the cold - Minimum temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit in this location.

Others have complained about not receiving genuine YKK buckles or receiving male-to-female ratios that were incorrect. Regardless, I decided to give them a shot, and the package I received had none of the above issues. Mine were genuine (or at the very least had YKK stamped on them), with ten of each M and F side. I was initially concerned because the "barbs" on the male piece that secure the connection are very small and rounded in comparison to other buckles I've seen. Because of this, I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to withstand heavy pulling. I put some 1" webbing through each side, connected them, and pulled with one strap under my foot and the other end in my hand (basically doing a squat with the strength of the buckle providing the "weight"), and it didn't budge, so despite the odd appearance, I guess durability is good. After that, I double-checked the product images, and they do indeed match the images (I didn't look at each one before, just the main one that appears when you load the product page). The ladder lock bars are on both sides (I believe someone mentioned getting buckles with only one side), and they work well, with no slipping despite the amount of strain I could apply by pulling from various angles. They have a very solid feel to them, almost like metal rather than plastic in your hand, and I believe they are more solid than other models. If you're making a SUL backpack or something similar, these might be too heavy duty, but I think the solidity is a plus for everyone else. I'll buy more if I ever need more than ten of these buckles.
I just got these yesterday, so this review is more about the company than the product at this point, but they aren't what I was expecting from YKK, and there are far better plastic connectors out there. I placed my order on July 15th, and they were marked as shipped on July 17th. Zipperstop is now based in New York, and despite the fact that they were marked as shipped, it was still giving me an estimated delivery date of between 24 and 48 hours. The tracking was updated on the 24th with the arrival in Long Island, New York, followed by arrival in Queens, New York, departure from Queens on the 25th, and arrival here on the 27th. I was perplexed as to what was going on between the 17th and the 24th because the company is based in New York. I understand that, with everything going on, some deliveries have taken a little longer, but in this case, I had ordered another package from the United States around the same time. as well as the package from the United States This one arrived a long time before this one. In terms of the product, it falls short of my expectations from YKK. I bought these because of YKK's good reputation, but I'm not impressed. I won't be using them for what I had in mind, and I'm not sure if I'll use them at all now that I've seen them and tried connecting and disconnecting them. The three stars, in my opinion, represent both the questionable shipping processes and the product rating.
These 1" buckles are really nice. Webbing threads easily through the channels, and the 'double' channel on both ends locks the length in place. This eliminates the need to sew one side of the webbing or use a triglide slide, though I always use at least one. This enables you to quickly create a strap without having to take any additional steps. (Triglide-slides have a large opening that can accommodate any thickness of webbing)br>I weighed them. 15 oz. / 545 oz. Each one weighs 6 grams (they're a little thicker and heavier than the tiniest ones). Another factor to consider is that they are directional. The male insert can only be used in one direction. If this is a problem, try a different guide or, like me, make a patch and paint a white dot on the 'tops. ' I've had a lot of trouble finding this type of hardware on Amazon, and it can be difficult to figure out which one will fit your webbing. Many of the buckles I've purchased make it difficult to feed the webbing through the slots. This is excellent.
The buckle itself is superior to generic webbing buckles because it has a superior latching design that holds well, does not unlatch accidentally, and is much easier to release one-handedly. I just placed an order for a few more to replace the shoddy generics I received as part of a webbing kit. I didn't realize how much better the YKK latches were until I had to deal with the bad ones. br>I can't comment on cold weather cracking because I live in Florida, but these use a high-quality resin that is at least as good as the generics.
A dog car seat cover for our trusty Honda Fit, which we had previously ordered from Amazon. After a year of use, I stepped on and snapped a male portion of one clip while giving it a good wash. I decided to repair this cover because I was so pleased with the material quality. These YKK clips arrived in perfect condition and are a perfect fit for the 1' nylon webbing. The male and female portions should be connected right side up because they are slightly curved. When done correctly, there will be a solid "click. " br>On the back of the female portion, there is an embossed YKK logo. br>The quality is excellent, and it is a significant improvement over the clip it replaces. I'm a completely satisfied customer who now has a slew of extras!.
I thought the $13 price tag was a little high, but I needed something that would last. br>I needed to replace a buckle on my computer backpack because it had broken. Because my computer was at risk, I needed something I could rely on to stay buckled. These were perfect for the backpack's 1 inch strap. br>I didn't need ten of these buckles, but knowing that I have them is comforting. br>How effective is it? br>I've been wearing this buckle for over a month and the strap has never slipped out of the buckle. br>The buckle has never been able to open by itself. br>This is a high-quality item that is well worth the money.
