Yes and no, they're fine for what I'm making for my riding horses, but I don't use them to train horses because they break.
I've been making dog leashes out of these with 5" quilting cotton. Because the opening isn't exactly a one-inch opening, it bends a little on the sides, but not enough to cause a problem.

These are ideal for making it simple to hook on and off horse blankets. There's no need to undo the front straps because they're attached at the ends and hook onto the D rings rather than going through them. I'm not sure why it took me so long to do this. These are also strong enough to withstand all of the rolling horses' antics, as well as the other mischief they get themselves into. I'm sure they have a slew of other applications that I'll discover. A fantastic purchase!.
These are designed to perform exactly as they should. I wouldn't recommend using these for anything too heavy, but for the price, they're fantastic! When it comes to the Buck, you can't go wrong. I use them for handbags and beach totes, all of which are made of heavy-duty canvas, and I've put them through their paces. They're perfect for everyday wear! If you want something heavy-duty, you'll have to pay a lot more for snap hooks like this; I'll be buying a lot more of these for my needs.
These are what I use to keep wire dog kennel segments together for Lab puppy litters. These kennels are kept outside all of the time and are moved around a lot. The hooks are always a source of contention. These hooks have done a fantastic job so far.

Used these to replace a similar-looking clip that had been lost a few years ago on a Kayak Seat. br>br>When you tried to use it, the quality of this Snap hook was noticeably lower, but it did the job and held up well. br>br>For the price, you can't really complain, but if this is a snap you're going to use every day/regularly, I'd look for a higher-quality mechanism.

This is a fantastic product, but I was hoping for a quick and simple replacement clip for the one on my dog's leash that had broken. This clip requires a small opening on the clip side of the rectangle portion so that the looped clip end of the leash can be slipped on without having to cut the sewn loop and then restitch it.
