charts used here, the first a large four-page one showing Luke, Leia, and C3PO's faces overall (in red, black, and blue), the second a smaller one just showing face details. I like the multicolor chart because it seems easy to read and well organized. Neither of the colors completely cover it, so there will be visible black lines. French knots, cross over cross, half cross (aka tent), cross stitch, cross stitch over cross, etc. A few needles that have been blended. The metallic threads are just two lengths (since I know some people dislike working with metallic). It is going to be a great book for anyone who likes star wars and fiber arts.

For years I have been trying to find a Daryh Vader cross stitch kit

This is perfect. Finding this was a huge thrill for me. The stitching hasn't started yet because I'm working on a gift for my niece, but I have been going through everything I have. Since I started cross stitching 20 years ago, I've completed over 100 pieces. A quality fabric and floss and an easily readable pattern make this quilting project a pleasure to work on. You shouldn't try this if you're a beginner. Apparently there are no borders on this cross stitch pattern, but my sister informed me that it looked really hard to stitch. I do not believe it does, so it would be suitable for intermediate and advanced cross.

It's a fun project, but it's still in the works

I'm having a blast with this! Black cloth is a bit different for me because I've never worked on it before. It should be able to be given as a gift to a relative. It's a great project, but the thread is a bit cheaper than what the article calls for. Nevertheless, it seems that all kit threads are made in China for a much lower price these days.
