There was a serious quality issue with the item when it was delivered. As a result, it seemed like it had been thrown together in a hurry with hot glue without any quality control procedures. Although it seemed well-made and unbalanced, it was heavy and had a good weight. It was returned the next day, so I went to a hardware store to get one.

The reason I chose this brass hammer instead of one with a well-known brand was because I needed a hammer for metal stamping The stamping is a known brand of stamp. I was a bit worried when I received the stamp, since there were some imperfections (a few scratches and a bit of mess around It has been some months since I bought the hammer, and it has been working perfectly. While it has several dents from hitting the stamps as expected, they do not disrupt the function of the hammer. I have used it exclusively to stamp on metals other than stainless steel. There is always the possibility that the product I received was not from a good batch and that quality control was troublesome, nevertheless, the product I received exceeded my expectations and I'm glad I tried it.

It's pretty easy to indent

There are already dent marks on the surface after using this less than ten times. In this case, I was using it to stamp metal. Neither my hammer nor the metal I was hammering was too thick, so I'm not sure why the hammer was so heavily impacted. The stamp I got was not what I expected as it seemed specially designed.

Hammer of solid construction

Good hammer for its purpose, though it doesn't handle very well in the case of an everyday use. Jewelry stamping is a method of metal forming. Only because it was a bit dirty when I received it did I dock it one star. This doesn't affect the hammer's function at all. I was just not expecting a brand new hammer to be scuffed.
