These pin backs work great, but some pins have shorter posts than others, as you mentioned. So the only way these will likely work for you is if the pins you're using have long enough posts to penetrate the fabric you're working with.

They do exactly what they say they will. I use them for my Disney pins because the original silicone backs that come with them cause me to lose them all the time.
I wanted a pin back that would allow me to pin the pins to my sweatshirt and then remove them to wash it, but these backs are not removable. I broke two of my favorite pins while experimenting with these pin backs. These backs aren't removable once they're on. The pins can't be moved around. In my opinion, this renders them useless. Take note of this!.
