You can do it on both the top and bottom pieces by pulling them together. If you use the proper motion, they will stay on for a long time and come off with minimal effort. My only concern is that on a couple of pins with weaker posts, the posts bent due to their tight attachment to the locking backs, making it difficult to remove the locks. With a regular or rubber pin back, they would have fallen off completely, so this is much better.
Pulling on both the top and bottom is how you do it. part of the foundation None of my pins have been destroyed.
Each container contained 30 pins, not 60, when I received my order.
I tried them on a jean jacket and a denim vest, and they worked perfectly. However, only through two layers of material are we talking about. They may go on if they're thicker, but they don't seem to lock properly if they're thicker than that. However, I have not lost a pin since switching to these.

These really do the trick. Rubber backs tend to pop off of the pins I've affixed to my laptop backpack, and I don't like the standard metal locking backs because they snag on fabrics and fibers too much or scratch books in the back. These, on the other hand, have proven to be a blessing in disguise. There wasn't a snag or a scratch to be found. br>br>My only complaint is that they do their job almost TOO well (i. e. , removing them to move or replace a pin is extremely difficult). Maybe it's just that I'm not very good at them. However, I'd rather struggle to remove a pin from my backpack than look down and discover one has fallen off and is missing, so it's a minor inconvenience for peace of mind.
These Pin Keeper Backs are designed to keep any standard pin in place. br>I bought them for a set of pins I wanted to put on a bag but was afraid would fall off; they work great and keep the pins firmly in place. They work as follows: br>br>
- To lock them in place, simply press them against a pin, then press them against the base. br>- Pull on the back of the lock to loosen it and remove it from the pin (keep the end pulled out while pulling). br>br>Pros:
- Locking! Unlike the cheap brass clasps that came with my pins, these things really hold on to them. br>- Easy! No tools! br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- These things are bulky, and they're a little bigger than a standard pin backbr>- It was a little difficult to get rid of it. Pulling on the very small pin back while pulling can be a little tricky, and it may take a couple of tries.
- Medium in terms of quality. The BACK COMING APART has been a problem for me! I had to use needle nose pliers to unlock and remove the inner cylinder. br>br>Overall, these have been a lifesaver (and a money saver!). ) to hold my bag's pins!.
If you use pins on anything you wear outside the house, these are a must-have. I've lost a lot of pins at conventions over the years, and these have come in handy. Unlike the usual rubber backings, they lock onto the back of the pin rather than simply slipping on. br>br>However, it appears that only about half of them work. Half of the pins are locked in place, while the other half are not. I'd give it a higher rating if the majority of them actually stuck to the pins.
Update: After about 9 months of wearing these on my jean jacket, I needed to remove the pins to wash it, and some of the locking pin backs broke without releasing the pin, so the ones that broke are now permanently stuck on the jacket unless I break the pin to remove them. When trying to release the pins, they easily break off, which I don't like. br>br>These locking backs work perfectly and are an excellent value; pins are easily misplaced, and many are limited edition and expensive, so these are a good investment to keep your pins safe. br>br>These are of good, sturdy construction, and the case in which they are packaged is also of good quality and very convenient.
I don't have to be concerned any longer! I can now continue to adorn my bag with lovely and amusing enamel pins without worrying about them getting lost. Each one has a backstory, which I usually gather from events or non-fiction sources. traditional sources (i. e. I rarely purchase generics in regular stores. As a result, losing them due to a shaky foundation is a painful experience. My friend, who is a Deadpool mega-fan, recently lost a 'Disco Deadpool' pin. fan. If he'd been using these, none of this would have happened! So these enamel pins get my vote for enamel pins you don't want to lose and aren't planning on removing anytime soon.
I can't believe how simple these things are, but how useful they are. I have a lot of really nice pins, but I never wear them or put them on anything because they are so easy to lose. Simply put, these small, low-cost lock backs solve the problem. They're inexpensive (in terms of price) and they work, which is all you can ask for with a product like this.
I'm the kind of gal who wears her backpack purse to metal shows and mosh pits. I used to have problems with the standard back, and I was constantly losing enamel pins; however, I haven't lost one since making this purchase. I've been using them for about four months. Your enamel pins will be better off as a result of this purchase.
These are fantastic when they work. However, there was about a 50% failure rate in my batch, causing pins to become stuck and resulting in permanent damage to some pins during removal, including some that were irreplaceable pins during re This makes me angry. Pin backs are not something to skimp on: This is a company you should avoid.
