Stainless steel is what I would guess they're made of. As far as I can tell, they are still shiny. It is a good package and I will buy it Chainmail is one of the things I use them for. However, I simply get a thinner necklace instead of them since they are too thick for very fine sterling necklaces.

It would have been nice if they had given it to me in a container with a lock. There are nights when I dream I'll drop the phone and everything will go everywhere. Imagining what that would be like, Other than that, they are strong and come in a variety of sizes.

The clasps of the bag all worked as they should. With the larger jump rings, I had to use my nails to open them, but it took a decent amount of force. I could not figure out why I was experiencing such difficulty opening the package until I discovered there was clear tape holding it closed.
If you purchase this product, BE CAREFUL when opening it for the first time. It was only after I spilled the pieces everywhere that I realized this. Check for tape if you don't want to go to the trouble! Make sure you open the package on the side with the label.
