I did manage to melt a gold block. I also purchased an infrared touch-free temperature reader that can read temperatures up to 2700 degrees Fahrenheit in about 30 minutes.
Yes, the furnace kit can accommodate a range of temperatures from 0 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The precious metal is quickly melted into liquid in a 12kg crucible with a 30ps air pressure valve.
Please use the large propane tank (high pressure cylinder) for your BBQ instead of the propane tank. And turn on the gas hose regulator to its highest setting. When heating the crucible and melting something, the most important thing to remember is to keep the lid on the furnace. I'm confident you'll notice the red crucible.
It all depends on the shape. It's likely that the ingot form dates from the 15th century. 35 min. It will take a long time to get that 5kg crucible full of relatively pure copper if it contains a lot of impurities and produces a lot of slag to scrape. What is the form of the material you're melting, as well? A large chunk of fine wire or mesh will melt faster than ten kilograms of fine wire or mesh.

Inside the box was a complete disaster due to poor packaging. The box was delivered backwards. Foundry does not get hot enough, despite using a lot of fuel, to melt copper and aluminum in a consistent manner throughout the large crucible. Small melts are the only ones that work. br>The top hinge is extremely flimsy, pulling on the side wall after each use, warping the top and preventing it from sitting flat. After a few uses, the sides and top of the paint are completely burned off. Isn't it true that I paid $600 for this? br>Because the regulator doesn't have a pressure value, you'll have to guess what psi it's running at. For my soul's living, I am a blacksmith who uses propane forges professionally. This system as a whole needs to be improved. I would never recommend this to anyone because it is overly cheaply done and not worth the money paid.
Everything you'd need was included in the kit, and it was well-packaged. I had some trouble getting it up to temperature, but the company's representative was extremely helpful. The copper melted a little slower than I anticipated. The advantages are: br>br> br>• well-groomed made componentsbr>• good packagingbr> • reasonable customer servicebr>• simple to assemblebr>• only one tool required for assemblybr>• compact and easy to storebr>• the tongs were hand forged (looked like they were made from rebar and are extremely durable! )br>br>The disadvantages: br>• the forge's finish isn't very durablebr>• the instructions aren't very clearbr> (Fortunately, the product's customer support was excellent, and they were able to assist me in straightening out some issues. ) • The tongs that came with it aren't large / wide enough to remove the crucible without grabbing it on one side and tilting it, which is awkward; it would have been better if they had measured the grip width to make sure it opened wide enough to grab both sides of the exterior. They will still complete the task, but there is room for improvement. br>br>Improvement Suggestions: • better picturesbr>• better coating on forge shellbr>br>Sustains: • more clear directionsbr>• better picturesbr>• better coating on forge shellbr>br> br>• keep up the good communicationbr>• the kit is very well put together (complete)br>• the hand forged tongs are a great featurebr>br>Overall, I had a great experience with this kit, and I would still recommend it to those just getting started in this hobby, and the company has good potential for these forge kits, but I believe they have a higher expectation of base knowledge than what I might have brought to the table, despite the fact that None of the disadvantages were significant enough to deter me from taking on the challenge of using it, and I'm looking forward to trying out some more knife-making projects with it this summer.
The forge's crucible was not properly packaged for shipping by the manufacturer. The crucible shattered the ceramic bottom as it bounced around inside the forage.
The gloves are shoddy, and the tongs aren't up to par; you could get a better set for less money. However, if you get this one, it will work fine; we've done a few "small" batches since purchasing it, and it works perfectly. It melts aluminum well; the tongs make pouring a little difficult, and the crucible itself lacks a "pour spout," but it heats well and thoroughly. It appears to use a lot of propane and was a pain to figure out how to use the first time (our box didn't come with instructions), but we got through it and I'm not sorry I bought it.
The condition of the inner box was even worse. Metal staples in one corner had come undone completely. It was jam-packed with sturdy foam squares, which I lifted to reveal the forge's bottom. So I put the foam back in place, flipped the whole thing over, and there was a powdery substance all over under that piece of foam. The clay lining appears to have been destroyed when I lifted the lid to remove the crucible. A quick inspection reveals that nothing else appears to be broken, but is it supposed to be this messy? I haven't tried it yet, but if it turns out to be good or bad, I will update the review.
When it comes to casting, I'm a novice at best, but this foundry is a professional. The thick insulation keeps the heat in for a long time, and if you leave it running for long enough, it will become extremely hot. I only use it to cast aluminum, which is usually lost PLA, and I have no complaints. The ONLY flaw I can think of that some people might object to is that it heats up a little slower than other foundries I've used. However, I see this as a benefit because the slow heating means your crucible is less likely to crack. br>However, the best feature of this product is undoubtedly the customer service; I had a question about how to set up the foundry, and ToAuto was extremely helpful. TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR TLDR Great medium-sized foundry with excellent customer service; it takes a while to heat up, but that's a good thing.
Purchase a propane tank and that's all there is to it. The ladle doesn't have any hooks, but the clamps should suffice. My assumption is that the material of the ladle is strong enough to be clamped on. Because assembly is simple, no instructions are required. If you need assistance, you can find instructions on how to use it on YouTube.
I didn't even put it together or run it through its paces. Take a look at the photos to find out why. Rusted, paint chipped (as if that matters), and the lid hinge is about to fall off. The shipping box was in excellent shape. I think you could do better for the money.
