This is a set of three high-quality ingot molds in a variety of sizes. br>br>All of the molds arrived in the same shape, size, and condition. br>br>These molds are ideal for making larger ingots or simply dumping leftover molten metals into to be recycled later. br>br>I've never had a piece of metal get "stuck" in the mold. In every case, flipping the mold upside down causes the metal to fall out. br>br>Because they're graphite, they'll leave a black dust on your fingers or gloves when you touch them, but it'll wash off easily. It can get a little messy when you're using it. br>br>Dropping one on solid concrete (Big oops, don't do this. ) proves to be quite durable. ) I was relieved to discover that the mold had not suffered any significant damage - The only flaw on the exterior is a small chip of material that has no bearing on the product's performance. br>br>Before pouring metal in, always heat them up. This prevents the mold from cracking or interfering with the metal casting process. Make sure they're on a level surface as well to get a good shape. They're lovely molds. br>br> I'm grateful for their presence.
I bought these to use with my melting furnace because making ingots in a muffin pan isn't very cool. They appeared to be extremely well-made, and the quality was, to say the least, exceptional. I'm hoping they'll last for a while - If they don't, I'll let you know.
One of them broke after only two uses, but the other two have been used for over 40 pours and are still going strong with aluminum and silver.
