Questions & Answers

I have a 9-year-old son and am looking for a new game that he will enjoy; will this be too difficult/inappropriate?

My six year- This is a game that my older grandsons enjoy playing. They used to play Portal 1 on my computer and, while they occasionally need a hint, they understand the concept of portals. To solve the puzzles/levels, they use physics, and they can sometimes keep their bearings better than I can. I'd give it a score of 9 out of 10. year- old would have no trouble picking up the game, especially since the early levels are more basic and geared toward learning how to play.

Is it possible for this to be released on the Xbox One?

Yes. Without a doubt. This was a gift for my daughter, so I bought it for her. We also play co-op games with our grandkids, and it works perfectly on her XBox One. op on the same system, which is also fine. There were no problems at all. It works exactly like an XBox One game.

Is it possible for more than two people to play at the same time? We have four controllers, and my kids and I enjoy playing when friends come over. ?

There is only one player and two-player mode available. player.

Is it possible to play Portal 2 on a PC?

If you want to play with people who have the PC version, you can do so by purchasing the game on Steam.

It's perfectly functional
3/5

Fun - However, other than other XBoxes, it will not co-play. This is a fantastic game with a lot of challenging puzzles to solve - Also, the narration/dialogue is hysterically funny! (Though I miss it a lot when I'm playing with my 6 year old) year- Grandsons who are a little older. We're in a position to work together. play on the same system (with a second XBox account), which is probably the most important for me, but it would also be nice to reach out onto the web and collaborate with others. Play with another person. The problem is that this is possible with every other version of the game (PS4, Windows, and so on), but not with the XBox. Except for other XBox users, the XBox system is unable to connect to anyone else who is playing this game. Windows is installed on my computer. a playstation, but there's no way to play with a friend I'd like to do an op with them (they're 3 hours away). For me, that's a significant achievement - Others, however, may not agree, particularly if they work in an all-male environment. This is the Xbox world.

Witty, addictive, and amusing

Overall, I had a great time, and I recently picked up Portal 2 after seeing it on a top 100 games of all time show. After reading the synopsis, it sounded like something that would be right up my alley, so I purchased it. br>br>The game is so inventive that I'm not sure where to begin (note that I've never played the original). If you didn't already know, the game is a puzzle solver. Gameplay- wise These puzzles begin simple and gradually become more difficult as you progress through the levels. Some of the later puzzles become extremely difficult, to the point where I became frustrated and turned to the internet for help. That, however, does not strike me as a drawback. All I wanted to do was keep the game interesting and moving. br>br>Then there's the other fantastic thing. The levels are small and manageable. So I discovered that I could easily fire it up and play for 15 to 30 minutes and be satisfied with the session, with the option of saving at a logical break-point. off pointbr>br>Finally, the game contains a lot of dry humor, which I find to be a lot of fun, and the Valve team has created a beautiful piece of art with this one. On this one, you'll definitely get your money's worth in terms of entertainment.

Say "Apple" and that's all there is to it
5/5

When Portal 2 was first released, I felt a little left out, but now that I've played it, I can say it truly deserves all of the praise. Portal 2 is Valve's sequel to the first Portal game. You're still trapped in Aperture Laboratories if you're playing as the mute protagonist from the first game. The rogue AI GLaDOS is being used as a test rat once more. But you're not alone this time; another robotic AI named Wheatley (played by Stephen Merchant) is also imprisoned in Aperture Labs. You will solve GLaDOS' puzzles and eventually dive into the abandoned parts of the massive installation, where you will learn about Aperture's hilarious (and often dark) early history. br>br>The writing in Portal is one of the game's strongest points. The game's plot, as well as its dialogue, are both excellent. GLaDOS remains the same snarky AI from the first game, but the dialogue has improved dramatically since Wheatley was introduced. In which Stephen Merchant does an outstanding job as the voice of this very amusing robot. The graphics are nice, and some of the game's sections have a lot of depth. This depth isn't just for show, either, because a big part of the game involves you messing around with physics by flinging yourself around with the portal gun and long falls. In the end, the gameplay was a lot of fun, and the boss battles were some of the best I've seen in a long time, similar to the GLaDOS fight from the first game. The story was memorable, with sophisticated humor as well as some darker themes. The only drawback I can think of is the lack of replayability. After you've solved the difficult puzzles once, they're no longer difficult the next time you play, which reduces the replay value.

The portal has grown in size
4/5

One of the best video games I've ever played was the original Portal. The puzzles were clever, the story was amusing, the gameplay was simple to master, it never outstayed its welcome, and it was inexpensive (or free if purchased with 'The Orange Box'). Now that Portal is complete, it's time to move on to the next chapter. a full-priced While it has many of the same strengths as the original (as well as some fun new features), I'm not sure it will be worth a purchase for some people. br>br>The second portal begins with a knock-on effect. as you take on the role of the first Portal game's protagonist. Wheatley (played by Stephen Merchant to comic perfection) is a talking robotic eye who is attempting to assist you in escaping the Aperture science facility. Soon after, you accidentally awaken GLaDOS, the previous antagonist, and are subjected to yet another series of "tests" as you attempt to escape the facility alive. The plot is full of the same fun twists and screamingly funny dialogue as the first game, though I must admit that by about the four-hour mark, I was getting a little tired of it. I was losing interest around the hour mark (roughly when the first Portal ended), and by the end (three hours later), I didn't give a damn. When a game that is already short feels almost TOO LONG, it's a bummer. Furthermore, whereas the 'test' sequences in Portal 1 brilliantly introduced the narrative, the 'tests' in Portal 2 feel like filler in between the actual narrative points. br>br>The graphics in Portal 2 may disappoint some, as they are EXACTLY the same as the original Portal (slightly better than pre-release versions). gen, but not as good as current-generation gen-generation gen-generation gen-generation gen gen). The animations, on the other hand, are incredibly fluid (just look at Wheatley's expressions!). ) and the levels are much larger and have a lot more content than the original Portal. There is no such thing as a slow-moving vehicle. what's down- ever. br>br>Portal 2's gameplay is just as polished and addictive as its predecessor. Valve has no equal when it comes to level design and pacing, and while the puzzles are a little easier this time around, they're still a lot of fun and make you think. The basic jump, carry, shoot mechanic is still playable, and new additions like the gels add to the fun. The Co- op is also fantastic because it not only continues the story from the single-player game, but it also adds to it. It allows you to give easy-to-give easy-to-give easy-to-give easy-to-give easy-to-give easy-to-give easy-to-give easy-to As you both use portal guns and must assist each other through five different test chambers, you can give hints and commands to your partner. br>br>Portal 2 is a fantastic game, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first. However, I would be hesitant to pay full price for the game, which features outdated graphics and a seven-hour single-player campaign (which loses steam about halfway through). way) and a few hours of Co-Operative Learning I just don't think there's $60 worth of content here for an op with little to no replayability. You should be able to see everything it has to offer within a couple of days, so renting Portal 2 or waiting for it to drop in price is the better option right now. Portal 2 is a fantastic game that is well worth your time; however, I do not believe it is worth the asking price.
