Is it compatible with the Xbox One?

All Skylanders figures are compatible with all video game systems. Console specifics are only found in the games and a few portals.

This was a gift from my son. I'd appreciate any assistance! ?

"Has any other supercharger vehicle worked on your son's portal?" is the only thought that comes to mind. Because it's possible that the first-generation portal, or even the giants portal, will fail to detect superchargers. I'm aware that the Portal of Power has undergone significant changes this time around, but it's also possible that I'm mistaken.

Is a driver required for the vehicles, or can any Skylander be used?

Any skylander will do, but supercharger skylanders are the only ones who can change the part on the game's vehicle, and if you place the supercharger skylander and his or her original vehicle in the game, they will be supercharged. I'm hoping this finds you.

Is there a PS4 version of this?

Yes, according to the PlayStation website, they are compatible with both the PS4 and the PS3.

I vowed to stay away from Activision products after the disaster that was the Skylanders Trapteam Kaos trap last Christmas, but my son received Skylanders Superchargers from another family member. I prefer this game to previous Skylanders installments, and my son and a friend are having a blast fighting and racing with characters and vehicles from their combined collections. You only need one of each element's vehicles - Various races can be accessed via water, air, or land. You must match a vehicle to a specific character in order to "supercharge," but "supercharging" is not required to race or win.

The structure is excellent

This item is well-made, and the paint and other details appear to be realistic. I bought it for my son to go with his new Superchargers game. He adores this character. For sure, this is a better deal than the store. I also like that I found this online and was able to keep a secret because it's impossible to keep a secret when I take him to the store with me.
