It's slightly larger than the original wired infrared sensor bar, but only by a few millimeters. br>I had a Wii and a WiiU in the same TV, and I bought this sensor bar from my Wii (because my dog broke the original), and now that I've used it, I think it works even better than the original WiiU sensor bar. Maybe it's because the sensor bar is bigger, and the original had more range when I played games like Mario Tennis or Wii Sport at long range, but I don't know for sure. What I do know is that this sensor bar.
Our son was given a Wii without a senor bar as a gift. It was ideal for the price, and it arrived the next day thanks to Amazon Prime. Our son was relieved to be free of our control for his allotted 30 minutes of gaming/tablet time, and it worked flawlessly with the Wii, despite the fact that it was a third-party purchase.
Bought this for our Wii and the wiring was so flimsy and loose that it fell apart, didn't bother to get a replacement or a refund because it wasn't even worth writing about at the time, saw a lot of products I hadn't reviewed yet and still saw this on my list to review, won't buy this again, it sat in one spot the entire time, guess it was a bad idea to buy an offbrand and cheap sensor.
The cord on the old one had been chewed by the cat, so I ordered this one as a replacement.
It accomplishes its goal. I've been using it for nearly a year and have never had any issues. It's a little flimsy. I am concerned that my child will break it, but the price is unbeatable.
When our Wii's old sensor bar failed, we used this to get it working again. However, it appears to have a vertical range that is restricted. Furthermore, the command appears to be shaky. It can be difficult to control precisely in some games. However, it's a good substitute for the games we usually play. We didn't use the strange "stilt" bracket that came with it. I'd recommend it for the money because it might help with the vertical/control issues.
I got it this morning. Arrived one day ahead of schedule. The one that came with my Wii stopped working. So I went to the store and purchased a sensor bar. That one, on the other hand, required a total of four batteries. I got rechargable batteries because I was sick of having to buy batteries all the time. I was sick of constantly recharging them, so I bought this sensor bar. Love it. Batteries are no longer needed. I now have rechargable batteries for my Wii remote as a backup.
It can be a little slow at times, but it's worth it. It works. It can be a little sluggish at times, but I haven't had any issues with it while playing most games. It's poorly constructed, but it's also a low-cost product, and it's adequate in general.
