The case is a one-piece that opens and closes, which I thought was a big letdown, especially since it doesn't close completely, and after a few tries of closing it properly, the plastic piece that holds it closed broke. Overall, don't bother. Despite the fact that they offer a warranty to replace the case, they ignored my message about it and demanded that I deal with Amazon, which is absurd given that the website states "reach out to us with any problems and they will take care of it. " To each their own, I'm just warning anyone considering purchasing this. At the end of the day, you get exactly what you paid for.
My old Vita case (a Cyber case) had broken, so I went out and bought a new one. When I saw this one, I thought it would be nice to have a clear case for a change. This case is much thicker than my previous one, which I immediately noticed. It's so thick, in fact, that it feels as if it's getting in the way of my buttons (especially the O button). The clasp that covers the bottom of the case (the charging area) also does not fully close. I thought it might be because I have a screen protector on, but I tried closing it with the case alone, not on the vita, and it still won't close no matter what, so it appears to be a defect with mine. There's also a gap on the sides, but it's not a big deal to me because it's not that big, and it does seem to have something to do with my screen protector because it closes all the way on its own. This case isn't perfect, and it makes me wish I had purchased a second Cyber case, but it does the job of (minimal) protection. If none of the points I've made bother you, I'd recommend purchasing it.
The first thing I noticed when I unboxed this product was a jagged edge that would sit on the bottom of my screen (see images), which was clearly not supposed to be there. Even after filing it down, it's still too bulky to fit on my Vita, and the sides don't close all the way, making it difficult to press the buttons. I'm not sure how effective it is at protecting, but it's clearly made on the cheap. Don't waste your money on this product; it hasn't worked for me.
The case was a perfect fit for the vita. I was a little concerned that it wouldn't align perfectly, but after double-checking, it does. The only thing I don't like about it is how it appears to have a small gap around the edges. Isn't it possible to have a backup closing clip? But, overall, I enjoy it.
I noticed that some people complained that the case was broken or that it was of "CD case plastic" quality. In terms of quality, this is unquestionably true. My vita arrived in good condition, but my son knocked it off an end table by accident, which did not damage the case but did take a chip out of it. I'm not sure what went wrong there. In addition, this case will not fit inside a protective case. It was so squeezing in mine that I had to re-calibrate my sticks, which was inconvenient. I simply do not use it any longer.
I doubt many people will purchase a protective case for the PS Vita, but I will almost certainly not purchase a protective case for the Nintendo Switch because the case is defective and can cause damage to your console. A small crack or piece of plastic was visible on the display area's edge. It was protruding inward towards the Vita screen, and I knew that if I installed it, it would immediately scratch my screen. Sigh. I guess all of this plastic garbage will end up in my trash can. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.
The product arrived slightly scratched, and one of the latches had broken off, most likely due to delivery handling. However, everything still fits together nicely, and I purchased a screen protector separately, so I'm not too concerned about the deep scratches on the front piece around the screen. Overall, this is a great product that fits well and doesn't feel bulky or heavy, and it's much easier to put on and take off than a traditional two-piece front and back protector because it's like a claw that just clamps at the bottom.
I've had a few bad Vita cases in the past (I once bought a gold one that didn't fit very well), but this one is very snug and works well. br>br>The only issue I had with it (and the reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating) was the difficulty in getting the connections set and "snapped" together. Aside from that (and you only have to do it once), it's an excellent way to safeguard your investment.
