Questions & Answers

Can you change the language to English and have the same features as the US version, as well as use your US PlayStation Network account?

I use a HK psn account, but I believe any psn account will suffice. You can also change the language. I purchased several US versions of games, and they all function properly.

Please tell me what's included with this PS Vita. ?

The Vita came with nothing but the Vita and just enough memory to try a few games when we bought it for our son in early January 2014. There was nothing else with it except a charger. He enjoys his Vita, but I don't think he uses it as much as his old iPod or PS4. Because it was only available in Japan at the time, his friends were enthralled by the light blue color. Now that it's available in the US, I believe it's less expensive. He changed all of the settings to English, and he's only nine years old, so I'm guessing it's simple and kid-friendly.

Is it equipped with an 8-gigabyte memory card?

Internal memory on this model is 1 gigabyte. If you plan on downloading (or even updating) games, you'll need to invest in a memory card. A 900 MB patch for God Eater 2 is one example.

What's in the box and what's not?

I purchased it as a gift and had it shipped, so I'm not sure what's included. br>Jim, please accept my apologies.

So far, everything has gone well
4/5

I've only recently purchased this, but everything appears to be in working order so far. The box was unsealed and in rough shape, but the system appears to be in good working order, and the firmware was not very old. So I'm hoping it's just been sitting around for a while, which is why the box looks like it does, and not a refurbished or used one, since I paid for new. br>br>As for the system's operation, the sad fact is that Sony no longer supports the Vita, so the PlayStation Store is a joke. There aren't many games on sale at any given time, and there isn't always a large selection of high-quality games, and it's not always easy for me to find what I'm looking for. But since I'm mostly interested in playing physical games, this isn't a big deal for me. The controls are my biggest pet peeve. It appears to be a system designed for children's hands, as trying to play a complex game like an FPS with it is extremely uncomfortable. It's not in the best of shape- In terms of controls, it is well-designed. However, since I primarily purchased this to play visual novels, this isn't a significant issue for me. It has no impact on my primary use of the system, but it makes any normal games (that require quick and complex control action) that I might want to try much less appealing. br>br>I'm hoping Sony will port some of the Vita games. Exclusive games, such as Persona 4 and the Uncharted game, have been ported to the PS4. The controller for the PlayStation 4 is fantastic. I'm not sure. br>br>I'm not sure. Even though I'm only in my 30s, I've noticed that my hands aren't as tolerant of small portable consoles as they once were, even on my 3DS (and don't get me started on how bad the Switch's Joy Cons are). But, in the case of the Vita, I believe that the inclusion of those small analog sticks is a contributing factor. It gets in the way of me using the actual buttons, and switching from the buttons to the stick requires shifting your entire grip on the machine, which doesn't work out well for me because I prefer to hold it up in front of my face rather than looking down at it. br>br>Overall, a good system with a great look, but if you have non-English speakers, this is not the system for you. If you have small hands and/or don't like having the device practically sitting in your lap while you play, keep your expectations in check.

It's well worth the time and effort
5/5

The most popular character is Diagoro. I purchased the PS Vita secondhand, but it is in excellent condition and has no scratches. I ordered the PS Vita to keep myself entertained during quarantine, and during the wait, I had a few questions about the item, to which Diagoro, the seller, responded quickly. I like the message they included in the package because it makes me appreciate my PS Vita even more given the current global situation. Diagoro, thank you very much.

My old Vita was dying, so I decided to go with a slim this time
5/5

I was a little hesitant about switching to an LCD screen, but once I turned it on and started playing games on it, all my concerns vanished. Even after all these years, the LCD screen is still stunning. Also, the slimmer design and longer battery life can't be beat; it's just a shame Sony never realized the Vita's full potential. Overall, the Vita slim is a fantastic device.

It's stunning! So my American black version was lent to me by a friend
5/5

This version of the vita is so much nicer, I have to say. Just the blue color is so appealing; it's much more vibrant than the dull-looking image. It's also a lot slimmer, though I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that he bought his 1-year membership. It had been two years. It's just as tough as the other version; I've had it in my backpack without a case and it hasn't scuffed or scratched. 8)br>The only oddity is that the X and O buttons are in the wrong positions. DO NOT CHANGE THEIR ACCESSABILITY SETTINGS AS THIS WILL RUIN YOUR GAMES. Most games, with the exception of Little Big Planet (for some strange reason), switch the buttons for you as if it were an American PS Vita, so you shouldn't be concerned.

Angel Vita is a character in the film Angel
5/5

This has been in my possession for quite some time. So, let's take a look at the big picture. It was well worth the effort. If I'm going to get a Vita, I want it to be unique, not just another one from Gamestop. White hides fingerprints better, the bezel is white, and the sticks are white; in comparison, the American versions look terrible. I like how the light blue back adds a pop of color. br>It's identical to an American Vita, with the exception that some games (Uncharted: Golden Abyss) switch the X and O buttons. Muramasa = switched, Muramasa = normal). I believe the settings can be changed, but I don't mind. br>All Vita systems are region-free (meaning they can play any game from any country). The same goes for memory cards and other similar devices). The only difference between the two languages is the color. br>This is a genuine Sony product, but it is only available in Japan. If you want to buy a Vita but don't have any specific games in mind, get one that you'll be happy with. I would have probably sold it if I had gotten a plain black one. Because this could be the last time Sony makes a handheld device, it's a good idea to get one that isn't widely available (for future resale value).
