Yes. I also have the new 2001 model, which functions flawlessly. As far as I can tell, the design of the 2000 and 2001 are identical. It will not work with the old model, the 1000 level series, but it will work with the 2000 level series.
No, it'll only work with PS Vita Slim models from the 2000 series.

This is an excellent product; the plastic is tough but fits snugly around the Vita. Although the case protrudes above the Vita's original layout/buttons, it has no effect on the Vita's controls or game play in any way, shape, or form. Because there is a designated "start" hump where the touchscreen buttons begin, rather than the entire back being flat and smooth, it makes using them much easier. Overall, this is a fantastic, high-quality product, and I particularly like the color and durability. It gives the Vita a nice pop of color without making it look childish, which is important for an adult gamer. I would buy this item again without hesitation.
The product, not the seller, is the sole focus of this review. The case is made of plastic and has aluminum plates on it. It's not particularly attractive, and I can't vouch for its durability because I didn't put it to the test (e. g. , a drop test).
It's a good case, but it's a little too small to fit every lock, and the aluminum plateing comes off easily. It stayed on fine after I reglued it (properly).
It is not, contrary to the title, an all-aluminum case. It's entirely made of plastic, with a few thin metal accents. It doesn't feel as sturdy, and mine didn't fully clip together; I'm not sure if this was an issue for others.
The case arrived with the aluminum on the case warped and peeling away. I strongly advise you to look for a different job.
While holding my slim vita, it relieves the pain in my hands and wrists. Doesn't cover any buttons, doesn't get in the way of fast-paced games, and works flawlessly. I'd buy from this seller again.
It's a tight fit, but it's a good one.
