There are fake labels on these products! It's true that these are genuine Sony batteries, but after buying four of them thinking I was getting batteries made in 2018, I became suspicious that all of them had the same date on them. There was an issue with one of the labels being perfectly positioned. When I pulled each one back, I found that they all were older batteries from 2011 to Although they are genuine batteries, giving one star because that is incredibly deceptive is an incredibly deceptive act as a seller.

Upon receiving the battery I noticed a sticker on it that states that it was made in 2018. Upon removing the sticker it became apparent that the battery I received was in fact a Sony battery. I did some research and found that there are no third party batteries available for the Vita and that most third parties on Amazon are just reselling the original Sony batteries with a sleeve or label covering Sony's brand. While it is good news that these batteries are not poorly designed third-party batteries and are not dangerous to your Vita, the bad news is that they are old and could have come from a number of sources. Sony decided to stop selling Vitas and so they are left over stock directly from them, but more than likely they are previously broken used cameras. The replacement of my battery in my Vita, which I've owned since 2012, with one of these given me about 5% more battery life after running tests, and, based on my estimate, it should have been about 30% more. It is not known if that is the result of it being manufactured in 2012 or if it was previously used, but I don't recommend it. Regardless if you intend to keep your Vita for a long period of time, you will probably want to stock up on these since once the batteries are available, it will be up to third parties to manufacture and sell their own batteries. A dead battery or a battery that is not plugged in will not enable the DVR to turn on.

My Vita is as good as new again after I replaced the battery and watched YouTube videos. I'm playing all my old games on it, and the battery life is back to where it used to be 6 years ago, though Sony isn't working on it in the US anymore. Initially, I found it difficult to replace the shoulder triggers because they refused to cooperate however, I was able to do it within ten Nothing to worry about.

This is an easy to install product. Initially, my old battery had lost some of its capacity which led me to buy this one. Due to the fact that my Vita is an original launch unit, the battery is about Although the unit's battery still looked great after opening it, it still looked good after looking at it It's not swollen at all (this surprised me because I have had multiple Sony-related procedures f I bought a brand of batteries for my PSP that swelled up and eventually died). I believe you are getting good value for your money with this battery. The bottom line is that as long as you have a basic set of small screwdrivers, along with a plastic pry tool (or guitar pick), and a sprudger, this should not be too difficult if you are familiar with doing this kind of repair. I think this is simpler and less delicate if you have replaced a battery on a phone before. You don't have to force anything, just take your time. There is a good write up for beginners on iFixIt.

I was able to replace the battery in ten minutes. As long as you are careful with the connectors, it is not that difficult. Thus far, it has been working fine the first few cycles are not working as expected, but then the battery starts to work normally. While playing Vita games with headphones and low intensity screen brightness, I get upwards of six hours of play time While with the PSP and indie games, I have gotten up to 10 hours of play time.
If you crank up the brightness, then you can even get in the 3 hour range. It takes on average 5 hours to master a particular realm. I have not bought any other batteries before buying this one, two Sonys and one other third-party battery. I received a battery manufactured in May of 2018, which is surprisingly good, and it holds a charge well or better than the original battery. Here's the battery you should buy if you're wanting to replace the battery on your OLED vita in 2019.

The installation process is not for people with no technical expertise, but it isn't THAT difficult and is actually easier than how Slim works. I got a new, mint condition model 1000 after restoring my old one. The OLED screen on the original is amazing.
