Questions & Answers

What difference does this make to the PS4pro's noise level? It has been cleaned up quite well and I have replaced the thermal paste, but there is still some sound coming out when I ?

A sound's source determines how it will This will make it quieter and cooler if the fan itself is broken (bad bearing). In any case, if it is an inductor or cap or coil on the motherboard, then you will hear the sound. You can easily test this by pulling up the cover on your PS4 pro and running the game until you receive an activation Put your hand on the fan in the center to turn it off for a few seconds. The noise will stop if the problem is with your computer. In that case, it's likely an inductor or something similar. The majority of the time, this is harmless (it happens to mine). Even if your PS4 pro has been very dusty, you might want to replace the fan anyway if it's been very dusty. I replaced mine and it did not resolve the noise, however it still runs well and is cool.

Is it void the warranty on a PS4 pro if it is replaced with another fan?

*br>[Seller's Answer] *br>Hi, YES. *br>Any DIY, Repair process will invalidate it. In the event that your PRO is still under warranty, we recommend you contact Sony to get assistance. It is actually not a problem for a PS4 to not cool when it is not in use for a long time. It is not always the cooling fan that is the cause of heating problems. Was it possible that I accidentally removed the pink paste and didn't notice until now? Would there be any problems down the road?

Since I don't own this fan, I cannot answer this question, but I do know the "pink paste" is a thermal transfer agent. Therefore, it may cause the CPU to overheat and damage it over time. Simply pick up a small tube of non-conductive thermal paste and use about the same amount as what there is. As soon as that's done, you'll be back to your old self!

A Nintendo Switch version of the product is not supported

There is no reason to buy this. I used the switch so much that it got so hot that part of the fan melted, making it extremely loud, but still working. The product has been installed into my switch, so I ordered it. I have found that the fan does not turn on at all after replacing the back of the switch! The next time I shut it off with my finger, I didn't have any air coming out of the switch, something I didn't notice the first time. I took off the back of the fan and played breath of the wild to force it on and found that it did turn on. As soon as I restarted the switch with the back off, the fan started up again, but it was very The fan no longer blew air when I unplugged the switch and put it back on. My understanding was that an error in the first one occurred by accident, so I ordered another. I never got a chance to turn on the second one I ordered. The circuitry won't account for $40 of the malfunction. I am highly doubtful that this is a fault of the product. Amazon says this product is a "customer's choice", so I assumed it would be high-quality. The junk is bad.

Fits perfectly in place of the original PS4 fan
5/5

The system is installed in CUH-certified facilities It was an 1115A PS4 and the installation went flawlessly (except for screwing up the Bluray cable, which then had to be replaced). I'm pleased to report that the PS4 is now It is nearly silent for games downloaded from the Internet and for most disc-based audio The Bluray drive is where all my disc-based games are stored (which drives me nuts since nearly all games on Since this is the case, all games just copy to the hard drive). Besides the screw drivers provided and the thermal paste, both of these worked effectively for the screws and the reinstall process It is coated with a protective layer. Should it be necessary to apply it again, you should have enough thermal paste to do about five or six applications. Make sure not to go too heavy, since most of the water will seep out the side. you use the thermal paste spreader that comes with the kit. As little spatulas for frosting cakes, it works like this.

As a beginner There is no noise from the fan when you hold it, but there is a slight whine when you are My level of expertise is fairly low
4/5

Having never done this before, I have no idea how to fix my electronics. Whenever I would lose one, I would just replace it with As a result, I decided to try repairing the broken fan, my choice would have been the same if I had liked the Lite, but I don't. My computer was making this terrible grinding noise. I was annoyed by it. I followed the iFixit guide. It is easy to carry out, but I suggest taking your time. The Y screws were hard to remove, and I ended up stripping one of them. Due to my own error, the two screws that are on the top and one screw that is on the bottom of the backplate broke. The system power was turned on after I removed the necessary parts, replaced the fan, added new thermal paste (nice touch), and put it all back together. The first thing I noticed was the complete lack of noise. It looked like the fan was dead at first since the old fan was extremely noticeable while booting. It shows that Zelda BOTW hasn't been downloaded when I boot up the game. Strange because my microsd card is inserted into the computer. There is no difference between taking it out and putting it back in. My hands hurt from removing the screws from the switch (Y screws are killing me), and I Now that I have it in again, I am able to use Good for you! Having put the computer back in Boot BOTW, it has now worked! There is no sound during the start of the game. Sweating begins to form on my brow when I think about removing it all My ear was near the sound and felt the air as it spun. I could hear the spinning as I touched it. The victory is ours! As soon as I start BOTW, the game is pretty It makes me happy and proud that I have accomplished what I have. I noticed when I moved the Switch up and down in a fast motion, the fan made a noise like it was There is a possibility that it has to do with the fan or how it was installed. Whatever the case, it is quiet, so I'll just hold it more carefully from now on.

I was looking for an alternative to Nintendo's overpriced repair service
5/5

I have had a problem with my Switch fan for quite a while now, and I just have no clue what caused it. The fact that this happened to my Switch was certainly frustrating since I take very good care of it. There has been some progress recently and it is very loud when it hits high gear, somewhat worrying that maybe it is causing permanent damage based only on its I called Nintendo and was told it would cost $100 plus shipping to have the repair service performed However, you should know that they claim not only to fix what you reported, but they also fix whatever else they find to bring it back up to their standard. So take it for what it's worth (or not) if you believe them. My search for alternatives ended up with this kit being suggested by someone on Reddit. There was no charge for return on this $20 item? Even though I built my own desktop computer, I would not consider myself an expert when it comes to hardware. As far as seller instructions go, they are satisfactory. You can watch some videos online and do some additional research before you get started. It is the screws which are the worst part (as echoed in other reviews). It is very easy for the screws to strip, which makes the Switch very prone to stripping, so be very careful and take your time. Make use of the rubber band hack whenever you can! Rubber bands fill in any gaps made when stripping the screw (place a rubber band over the screw). There's no fault on the seller's part, but I wish you could get better leverage with the screwdrivers that come in the kit if they had bigger handles. There is only one (small) complaint I have about the kit itself- the plastic piece used to open latches inside the kit. The plastic is a pretty thick piece, so it's a challenge to wedge it where you need it. There should be a thinner piece for this part to make it It is likely that I will come back and update this if anything goes wrong, but so far everything appears to be going as planned.

How did things turn out? After my PS4 pro overheated even after it was cleaned not long ago, I ordered a replacement fan
5/5

To replace my obviously defective delta fan with this nidec one, I installed this nidec. I was concerned when I played because of the instalment. From a screaming hair dryer to a quiet blowing sound, I experienced a drastic change in I don't know what happened to the fan but it was a smashing success. The fan was installed along with a full thermal paste replacement (included), as well as replacement of all thermal pads and some cleaning. As well, I put feet on it so that it stands up an inch higher. In the event that you are having similar issues to mine, I highly recommend getting this kit.
