Before you buy this mouse, make sure you do your homework. To set up the mouse, you'll need to download Razer's Synapse software, which requires you to hand over all of your personal information via an obscene EULA (End User License Agreement). Before you can use Synapse, you must first register and create an account with a valid email address, phone number, and other information. They will collect information not only about how you use this mouse, but also about what software you have/use, how often you use it, (and who knows what else they will collect), and so on. br>br>Moreover, Razer Synapse is bloatware that consumes your PC's processing resources while it runs in the background. Synapse's security posture is also questionable. Can malicious software or hackers take advantage of it? Is your computer becoming less secure as a result of it? This is a bit confusing. We only know it's there to gather your personal information and 'phone home. ' br>br>In conclusion, I believe that this data collection practice is excessive and that we, as consumers, should not tolerate it. There are a lot of great gaming mouse products and brands out there that don't go overboard with user data security. Those companies deserve our support.

I've had the V2 for about a month and it's a huge step forward from my Deathadder Chroma, which died due to the doom of double clicks. br>br>Before I get into the pros and cons, there are a couple of issues you should be aware of. br>br> For starters, for the first few days after setting up the mouse, it wouldn't connect, and I had to unplug and re-plug it to get Windows to recognize it. This was due to the fact that the Synapse 3 software does not, for whatever reason, check for a mouse firmware update. After a quick Google search for DeathAdder V2 firmware, I was able to find the correct link on their website to update it. There were no more problems after that. br>br>The second issue is a much faster fix for those who keep changing the dpi using the two top buttons. Simply go to the synapse software's performance tab and manually set the dpi to whatever you want, then turn off sensitivity stages to prevent the buttons from changing the dpi. br>br>advantagesbr>- light as a featherbr>- great ergonomics (even for my big hands)br>- a fantastic tracking systembr>- consbr>- feels sturdybr>br>prosbr>- looks goodbr>br>prosbr>- looks goodbr>b br>- Software is a shamblesbr>- You won't get any help from Razer. br>- While the mouse does have eight buttons, three of them are not for gaming. Only dpi is supported by the dpi buttons. I can't assign them to different tasks, and another button is only for switching profiles on the fly, so it can't be assigned. So, at the end of the day, it's just another 5-button DeathAdder like the others. It's a bit of deceptive advertising. br>br>This mouse is actually quite good. I've enjoyed using it for everyday tasks as well as gaming, but the software and Razer themselves keep it from being a five-star product. br>br>Also, who needs a resolution of 20k? honestly.

I had an older version of this mouse before it developed problems with its buttons, so I upgraded to this newer model. It's an excellent mouse and an excellent upgrade! br>br>Right off the bat, I'd like to point out that the tagline "8 programmable buttons" should not be taken too seriously-- It's counting every single button on the mouse, including the standard left and right clicks, as well as the bottom-mounted buttons for adjusting settings that you'd never use in normal gameplay or computer use. The two "extra" buttons on the left side that you can click with your thumb are the only "extra" buttons on this mouse for gamebinding. The following buttons are also available: The mouse wheel, the left and right clicks, two buttons beneath the mouse wheel to adjust the DPI, and a button on the bottom of the mouse to switch between profiles are all available. So, if you're looking for more buttons to use during gameplay, this is the game for you. Have an entire MMO hotbar on your mouse, for example. This isn't the correct option. It's handy if you only need a couple of quick-access buttons! For things like push-buttons, I like to use the mouse buttons. In first-person shooter games, you can talk and use melee attacks. br>br>The differences from the previous version of the Deathadder mouse are minor, but they improve the quality of life for me. The area beneath the side buttons where you're supposed to rest your thumb has been improved the most. This was a glued-on item in the previous version. on a rubber pad that wears out after about a year of use It's now textured to match the rest of the mouse's material in the V2 mouse. Only if the entire mouse case is removed will it come off! I could see the texturing being a little rough, but it's better than getting glue all over my thumb after the pad fell off! br>br>The other major difference I've noticed is that this mouse appears to be slightly smaller than its predecessor. Because I have small palms and long, thin fingers, this is ideal for me. I frequently have difficulty using gaming mice and controllers in a comfortable manner. However, I'm not sure if this would be as comfortable for people who have larger hands. If you're concerned, I'd recommend getting measurements for a mouse that you like and comparing them to the size of this mouse. br>br>I believe the profile and DPI buttons are also new features, though I haven't played with them much because I'm not familiar with them and haven't needed them for my own gaming. It appears to be a useful feature, and the buttons appear to be of high quality; I've never accidentally pressed them while playing, which is fantastic. If you require additional information, you should probably look at other reviews. br>br>It appears to be - This mouse is straightforward, but it has a nice appearance. When the lights in the room are turned off, the light on the logo and mouse wheel is vibrant, but not so bright that it is distracting. You can change the color to your liking using Razer's software, or you can leave it on the default setting, which cycles through different colors in a rainbow order. I'm aware that game developers can use a feature to have the mouse colors changed by the game, but I've only ever played one game where I know for sure this was done-- The color of the mouse in Overwatch varies depending on the character you're controlling. I don't think it's been used in a lot of other games, and I don't think I ever look at my mouse while playing anyway- It's most likely a feature that works better on a keyboard. br>br>Overall, I believe this is a fantastic mouse! It's a good choice for gamers or anyone who uses their computer enough to want something with a few more features and/or is a little more durable than a cheaper mouse. It might be a better idea to save up for a more expensive mouse if you're a big tech nerd or want more button options. However, I believe that for the price, this mouse provides a great deal of comfort and control.
