Questions & Answers

Does the lighting work on a plug-and-play basis without the use of any software? Is it true that your company forbids you from installing software on your laptop?

When you first plug the mouse in, it connects to the internet and loads dreadful software that requires your email address before any of the features will work and has an annoying pop-up window. When you turn on the computer, a pop-up screen appears. This mouse is dreadful. Another should be purchased.

Is there any kind of guarantee?

"Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical Switches: Durable Mechanical It can handle up to 10 million clicks and comes with a two-year warranty." I'm assuming the product has a two-year warranty based on this information.

Is it possible to install synapses once the device is plugged in, or do you have to manually install the software?

There should be a prompt asking you to install the software if it doesn't do so automatically.

Is this applicable to laptop gaming and laptop-related apps? What about Word, for example?

Yes, without a doubt. You can simply plug it in and it will work as long as you have an open USB port. There is no need for any software.

The Essentials Version is not to be purchased
3/5

The listing clearly states "rubberized grips," but there is no rubber grip on the Essentials. There are textured plastic grips that make moving the mouse a pain in the arse if you have even a speck of grease, sweat, hand moisturizer, wetness, or anything else on your skin. br>br>The underside of the mouse had grime stuck around the optical sensor, indicating that it had been used a lot. br>br>Unfortunately, Amazon does not differentiate between the mice listings, so while I gave the Elite a 4/5, I will override that score to warn people not to be fooled by the Essentials' low price. Pay a few dollars more for the Elite or higher; Razer needs to get rid of these old mice. br>br>I also contacted Razer support, who basically said "oh, that sucks, did you try contacting the seller?" " Well, Razer, you're the seller, so yes, I did. " At the very least, it's unhelpful.

At around $30, I thought this mouse was well priced; it was comfortable, had good tracking, had a shaky wheel, and felt too "light" in the hand
3/5

It used to be available for $50-$60. 60 is too much for it, in my opinion. I'd like to highlight three aspects that I find particularly appealing. (1) This mouse fits well in the right hand, and it is slightly larger than average, which is a plus. My hands are average, and smaller mice make me feel like I need to keep an eye on them all the time or they'll vanish. This mouse avoids attracting too much attention to itself. It's important to note that it's wide enough for the thumb and pinky to rest comfortably on it, and it's raised just enough under the index finger's base. This makes it easy to hold without having to squeeze it, and it rests comfortably in the hand. This contributes to the mouse's ergonomics and "organic" feel in the hand, which are, in my opinion, its strongest features. (2) In terms of how the pointer motion "feels" on the screen, the mouse appears to do a good job. The mouse and pointer movements are in perfect sync. I had another highly sensitive mouse on my computer before this one, and it wasn't pretty, despite the fact that adjusting the software settings helped a little. The switch to this mouse felt like a huge step forward, and I only had to slightly slow down the pointer speed. (3) I wish this mouse was a little heavier because the pointer movements are smooth and precise. I'd like the wheel feet to be a little more substantial as well. The mouse and the wheel both require a small amount of effort to move, which is insufficient for my comfort; the wheel is particularly problematic. The finger glides across the wheel without triggering it, necessitating mental effort to turn it, but not too much effort to click it. This is one of the mouse's primary drawbacks. Another 20-minutes, in my opinion. It would have made all the difference if the mouse's body had been 40 grams heavier. It would have made a difference if the wheel had been slightly more resistant or rubbery. The mouse's light weight and low resistance draw attention to themselves, detracting from the sense of substance that I enjoy in a mouse. The mouse, on the other hand, feels more substantial than your typical cheap, smallish, light, plastic mouse. Some users may prefer a lighter mouse, and some users may prefer a greasy wheel that is difficult to rotate, but neither of these things appeal to me.

You get what you pay for with this mouse; it's inaccurate and uncomfortable, and it's not designed for gaming
3/5

I have a Deathadder 2013, which is great, but it's starting to show its age and double clicking when I just click once. So I thought I'd get a new mouse that was similar, but the differences are significant. br>br>The overall impression is negative. Tactile hard plastic takes the place of the padded thumb rests. The buttons aren't as responsive as they used to be. br>br>However, the most noticeable flaw is the accuracy. When the texture of the mousepad changes slightly, the pointer jitters. Try drawing a small circle with it to see if you get any fine control. br>br>The old razer deathadder I had didn't have any of these issues. Basically, they built a brand on quality, but they don't want to maintain it with quality, so they just shovel junk out to customers. br>br>I'll be returning this and looking for a brand that still cares about quality, because Razer is no longer one of them.

It's a lot better now, and it's fantastic
5/5

Many of the reviews were clearly written prior to the product's improvement. Razer needs to pay attention to their customers because this product has no flaws, such as no "falling off" rubber strips on the sides. It is also ergonomically excellent and prevents hand fatigue, as well as having reprogrammable buttons for gaming. This device's Synapse software works in tandem with your Chroma version, seamlessly and automatically. It's simple to program the mouse. The logo and wheel are both a pleasant green that can be adjusted in brightness. If you want your colors to always match your keyboard, the v2 is the way to go. But I can't see much of the lights anyway because my hand is over the mouse. So, for a very low price, I am extremely pleased with this mouse. This is a fantastic product that I strongly recommend.
Note: For this review, I was not paid in any way.

BUYING IS A MISTAKE - The mouse is a sham with a dreadful scroll wheel
3/5

Everything works fine, but this is the second version of this mouse I've purchased, and the mouse wheel has already disintegrated after only two days. Scroll down a dozen times, then back up a dozen times. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Adding an edit to reiterate: DO NOT BUY THIS PILE OF CRAP. br>br>Adding an edit to reiterate: DO NOT BUY THIS PILE OF CRAP. Razer's customer service is beyond stupid (their instructions don't match the software they provide. ) I'm just astounded at how bad the mouse wheel is on this mouse. This mouse wheel is so bad that I'd rather try to wrangle chicken on meth than use it. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS OR ANY OTHER MOUSE FROM THIS COMPANY.
