Questions & Answers

Is your body up to the task?

Get your body in shape:

Do I need to buy two of each game for the kids to play together on local if I buy two Switch consoles?

Unfortunately, it appears that you will need to buy one copy of the game for each Switch device, as opposed to the Xbox, which allows you to play head-to-head with two xboxes, two television sets, and ONE xbox account and ONE game copy (you can 'family share' to the other xbox and both users can use the same game copy). This appears to be a no-no for Sony and Nintendo. That is why, instead of purchasing Japanese game consoles, I purchased two Xboxes. Nintendo does not appear to allow you to share a game with a friend and play head-to-head with two Switch consoles locally. So good luck finding seven other people with Nintendo Switches and persuading them to buy the same game so you can all play together in the same room with your own consoles. To do so, you'll need to use 8 controllers on ONE switch, which will most likely need to be connected to a television so that everyone can see the screen. Even the switch lite doesn't let one person use the built-in physical controls while another uses a wireless controller: Wireless controllers are required for both. Nintendo appears to have a poor understanding of a variety of (obvious) mobile use case scenarios, i.e. With a friend who has an external controller, you can play head to head or Nintendo lite. That's why I gave up and now just use my phone with the razer junglecat controllers so I can have a portable device that can handle all use cases and is also much more portable.

Will I need to repurchase this version if I already own the Wii U?

You're fooling yourself if you bought MK8 for the Wii U and think you don't need this. Everything is contained on a single cartridge, and you can play it online. Also, if you use ethernet adapters, the gane can support up to eight players over LAN! It is also free of bugs and glitches. Also, with a Wii U, you can't leave your living room; however, I can play MK8D with or against my friends on the bus by using my phone as a hotspot. It's absolutely fantastic. If you think you're good with the Wii U version, think again. wake up

Will the physical copy of this game arrive on the 28th, or will it be shipped out on the 28th, if we preordered it?

I preordered one, and it hasn't arrived as of the 28th, despite the fact that it says it will arrive by 8 p.m. tonight. However, given that it is the day of the event and the package has yet to be delivered, I highly doubt it. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. It never arrived on time, as I expected, and when I contacted customer service, the lady said they were having trouble stocking the game to meet all of the preorders. I requested a credit to my account because they failed to meet their guaranteed delivery date, but instead received a one-month extension to my prime membership once the game is finally released. I inquired about the new delivery date, but she stated that she did not have that information, so I'm guessing I'll have it in a week or more! The customer service representative was pleasant, and it was not her fault. But, Amazon, come on. Is it really that difficult to say, "OK, we have 500 copies of the game." As a result, we'll only be able to accept 500 applications. orders! " No? There's a little too much logic there, Amazon? It's ridiculous!

Changes from the Wii U version are listed below
5/5

This is Mario Kart 8's definitive edition, and it's a must-have for anyone who hasn't played the Wii U version. If you already own the Wii U version, the changes may or may not be worth it, depending on your needs. Without further ado, here is a rundown of the differences between the Wii U and 3DS versions: 1. br>br> When docked (TV mode), 1080p with a higher frame rate* is used instead of 720p (on Wii U). In tabletop mode, the resolution remains at 720p. TV mode has a frame rate of 60 frames per second (fps), while off mode has a frame rate of 59 frames per second (fps). When comparing side-by-side, one frame does make a difference. side and/or if you've spent dozens of hours playing the originalbr>br>2. Five new characters have been added: Bowser Jr. , Dry Bones, and King Boo are among the characters who have appeared in the game. 3. Inklings (Boy and Girl)br>br>4. Inklings (Boy and Girl)br>br>5. Inklings (Boy and Girl Even if they don't drag the first item, characters can now carry up to two items at once. br>br>4. Box with two items. When you finish a double item box or two singles, you will receive two additional items. It's important to note that you can't switch items back and forth. br>br>5. "Smart Steering" is a mode that keeps you from going off course or crashing into a puddle. The rainbow road courses are especially good for toddlers and young children who are just getting into the game. If the player's vehicle is in Smart Steering mode, an antenna will protrude from the back. When Smart Steering is turned on, the antenna blinks. br>br>6. "Auto- For beginners, "accelerate" is the best option. You don't have to hold down the accelerator button when using this feature in conjunction with Smart Steering. Again, this is a good option for young children who simply want to drive around the track without stopping. gaps. When using the wheel peripheral, it works wellbr>br>7. All of the Wii U DLC is included. With the exception of kart parts and Gold Mario, everything is unlocked from the start. Playing the game and collecting coins allows you to unlock Kart Parts. By winning the entire 200cc Grand Prix Cupbr>br>8, Gold Mario was unlocked. There are now time trials for 200cc engines. New Nintendo employee ghosts to race against have also been added. br>br>9. Ultra Miniature - Pink/purple sparks appear after the orange sparks, indicating turbo mode, which allows you to boost much faster. Cannot be used when smart steering is turned on. br>br>10. Playing games over the internet

Changes in the graph: At the start of the match, Motion Blur, High Quality Shadows, and Confetti now fall to the ground, displaying animationbr>br>17. Mode of combat: In terms of gameplay, this is the most significant change. There are four different types of battle mode games to choose from:

- The battle of the balloons Traditional Arena Style (no more battling in a circle) Mario Kart Battle mode, in which you score points by popping or stealing your opponent's balloons with items.

- Renegade Roundup is a term used to describe a group of people who are Set up in the style of a cops and robbers game. Before time runs out, one team with potted piranha plants tries to capture the entire other team. Your teammate can also help you get out of jail once you've been apprehended. br>br>- Bob- omb Blast is similar to balloon battle, except you only have bombs to carry. br>br>- Runner with a coin Collect as many coins as possible before the timer runs outbr>br>- Shine Thief is a character from the game Thief of Light. A keepway-style game in which you must hold the Shrine Sprite for the longest amount of time before time runs out. The speed of the driver who is holding the shrine sprite will decrease as time passes. br>br>==Additional notes:
- In both docked (TV mode) and handheld/tabletop mode, there is a four-player split screen. It's worth noting that the tabletop mode's screen is quite small, which may pose a problem for those who are far away. sighted. When playing with two players, the frame rate is 60 frames per second; when playing with three or more players on the same screen, the frame rate drops to 30 frames per second. br>br>- There is no Download Play, so if you don't want to share the same screen or play with more than four players, you'll have to play split screen or buy another copy of the game. br>br>- Because the Switch lacks miiverse, stamps do not make a return. br>br>- When playing TV mode, there is no longer a gamepad/duel screen, so you won't be able to see what everyone is holding by looking downbr>br>- Unfortunately, there is no voice chat (at the time of this review). Was included in the Wii U version, along with microphone hardware (which no one purchased). There's supposed to be a smartphone app that uses voice chat, but Nintendo hasn't said anything about it yet. br>br>- To make the game more balanced, the statistics of vehicle parts and drivers have also been changed. br>br>- Other changes to the balance include: br>Fire Hopping is no longer an option: The Wii U version has an exploit where you can hop from left to right repeatedly to gain extra speed from turboboost. br>br>The blue shell dodge exploit is still active. It's when you're about to fall off the cliff and the blue shell is about to hit you; it'll save you a lot of time recovering. When smart steering mode is enabled, this will not be possible. br>br> If a Blooper is about to ink the player as they cross the finish line, the player will still be inked. br>br> The Nerfed Red Shell: You can block a red shell if you're holding something behind you while in the air. br>br>Easier to break while drifting (advanced tactic)br>br>- If there's anything else I missed, please let me know in the comments. br>br>If there's anything else I missed, please let me know in the comments. br>br>Overall, I believe the best additions are the improved battle mode and the portability aspect, which allows me to play during my lunch break and commute to work. I've already put in over 300 hours on the Wii U version, and the upgrade is well worth it for me because I got more than my money's worth in the Wii U version. I plan to put in another 300 hours on the Switch version, especially given its portability, and another 100 hours in battle mode with my housemates. That's just my opinion, but if you're in a similar situation, it's a great buy. If not, I hope the list of changes was useful in making your purchase.

It Makes Me Feel Like a Christmas Kid! It was a fantastic gaming experience
5/5

We've come a long way from Kart 64, with smooth gameplay, great music, and entertaining sound effects. I haven't played a video game since the N64 (I skipped both the Wii and the WiiU), so I feel like an old man re-entering the Nintendo universe. It's made me feel like a kid again, especially given the amount of stress I've been under with my health over the last few years. To me, that's a significant achievement. Nintendo, I appreciate your efforts. You guys keep making great games, and now I get to share them with my nieces and nephews, which makes it even better. Keep an eye out. Great game, but not a significant improvement over previous Mario Kart games
3/5

It's a lot of fun to play with friends, and I especially enjoy it when they're right next to me. Aside from that, I agree with some of the other reviews that this game could be a lot better. They've relegated the extra power ups to only being available when you're in specific positions. So if you're in first place, you'll never get shells, invincibility stars, or anything else. So you're at a disadvantage if you hang on to the first spot? I'd think that having everyone behind you vying for your position would be enough of a disadvantage. However, the person in front is not affected as much as you might expect because those behind him are now in a firing range where everyone has weapons and is busy slowing down each other. So, if you manage to get out in front with a bit of a lead, it's usually pretty easy to win; otherwise, if you're stuck with the masses, it can get pretty difficult. I'd prefer a fully random draw of power ups. For the more battle royale missions, they've added cheap gimmick spots into the maps, such as one where there's a ramp onto the walls that players can just stop on top of and rest, and others can't.

It was disappointing
3/5

In comparison to the GameCube version, this game is a huge letdown. It is not worth purchasing due to a lack of user options and a poor design. For example, if you finish first or second in a race, you'll almost never get any decent powerups and will be stuck with coins or bananas. You can't hit people to knock them off course, and the jump feature is more of a miniature hop that makes no difference. You have no control over which powerups are allowed in races or how many CPU AIs are present. This holds true for the battle mode as well. You can't ram people to steal balloons when playing a balloon battle. In fact, there is no in-game settings page in this game. Nintendo has made a shambles of a game here.
