If there's a workaround, I haven't found it yet. That's about it for my gripes.

No, I do not believe that is true.
It, like any off-brand Xbox 1 controller, needs to be connected from time to time.

I'm always perplexed by a slew of five-star reviews with the same generic "This product is great!" message. "This has forever changed my life," and so on. However, this controller is one that I would gladly recommend. It is significantly less expensive than the official version, and it is designed for people with larger hands. It's fantastic. br>br>This controller was giving me problems with the home wake up feature until I pressed the reset button (a small hole on the back that isn't marked or mentioned) and re-programmed it. I wired it in and paired it with the system according to the instructions. It actually wakes up the system and doesn't keep disconnecting it. The battery life is excellent, but it WILL try to save itself by switching to low battery mode, which also disables the wake-up / pairing issues while sleeping. So, if the controller isn't doing either of those things, remember to keep it charged (it will run in low battery mode but misbehave) and simply reset it out of the box to connect it.
The CuleedTec Wireless Game Controller for Nintendo Switch is an excellent replacement for the Switch Pro Controller. br>br>It can be connected to the Switch wirelessly or via the USB cable that comes with it. C cable for charging It has dual motors for good vibration control, as well as an accelerometer and gyroscope for left and right motion control. br>br>It feels very well built, and it feels and plays like an Xbox controller with the asymmetrical analog sticks, which I really like. br>br>There is no input lag, a decent connection range, and the buttons don't feel mushy. br>br>It takes a few hours to charge and then is ready to play in an hour. br>br>I highly recommend this controller because it is well worth the money!.
The only reason I didn't give it a one-star rating is because the outer hardware is in good condition. It works (albeit with some annoyances) with my switch lite if you only need a cheap controller for your switch. If you don't mind a few annoyances, go for it, but don't buy it if you want to use it on your computer without too much trouble or if you want a plug-in. Have some fun with it. br> Low-costbr> Solid-feeling hardware a pleasant experience
- Compatibility with personal computers is a problem. The controller most of the time tells my computer that it's a Playstation or Xbox controller (different button mapping, which makes the experience dyslexic and frustrating). This only applies to games that are designed to work with switch controllers.
- Occasionally, it simply stops working or refuses to work at all (again, on games that support controllers)br>- There is no pdf version of the user manual, which means that if you misplace the hard copy and run into problems (which happened quite frequently in my case), you're out of luck.
For someone who isn't concerned with performance, this is an adequate controller. The input latency was a major letdown for me. I've tried reconnecting it, resetting it, and using it alone vs. with other controllers in various combinations. I'm not sure what's wrong, but the input lag is getting worse. Reconnecting it helps for a while, but it soon becomes unusable again. br>br>I'm extremely disappointed because this controller is otherwise fantastic. Great build quality, excellent ergonomics, comfortable joysticks, buttons that aren't too spongy but don't click, and smooth trigger buttons. This is an extremely well-made controller. However, if you have a hundred-person team, Input lag of 300 milliseconds makes it impossible to play.
Solid controller, though not as high-end as the actual pro controller, as one might expect. My only gripe with the controller is that the D pad isn't as responsive as I'd like. Otherwise, a good buy for the money. br>br>Update: I tried to use it today and it wouldn't turn on. I tried to charge it, but it just flashes the bottom lights and won't turn on. br>br>Update 2: I contacted the seller, who was fantastic. Based on this, I would highly recommend them and have updated my review to reflect this.
This controller is an excellent buy. The sticks are firm and responsive, and they have a premium feel to them. The buttons have a satisfying click to them, which I enjoy. The D-pad also has a satisfying click to it, which I enjoy. The pad is a good substitute for the Joycon D-pad. It "breaks in" nicely after a few minutes of use. br>br>One thing to keep in mind is that the controller will not wake the Switch from sleep mode, but this isn't a big deal. The home button is used to sync it, and the same button is used to turn it on. The separate colors on each side are a nice touch, and it's a very nice looking controller with a battery life of around 5 or 6 hours. br>br>Anyone looking for a less expensive alternative to the Pro Controller should consider this.
I like this controller so much that I bought two pro Nintendo controllers, but they started drifting after only a few months. In my small hands, they felt bulky as well. The only issue I had was that my grandson used it and it must have had a low battery and he continued to use it without realizing he needed to charge it (he's 6), but I emailed the seller and he immediately had a new one shipped to me. I appreciate their one-year warranty and excellent customer service. This is a company from which I will definitely order in the future.
This wireless controller has a beautiful all-black design with red and blue accents. Connecting it to the Nintendo Switch was a breeze. In terms of ergonomics, I believe it is comparable to the OEM wireless controller. This should be a good substitute for your dock mode at a fraction of the cost and with a comfortable grip.
