Most likely, that is not the answer. As far as Windows is concerned, it DOES recognize it as a HID device Rather than a game controller, it can be used as a device. By this, we mean that it can interact with a system as an I can't figure out what that is for the life of me. Initially I used it for Mortal Kombat 11 through steam, where steam did not know what it should do and could not bind inputs to any keys, then for Super Smash Brothers Melee with Dolphin. Once you have installed Dolphin with Zadig - As soon as the controllers are recognized by Dolphin to be a WiiU Adapter GameCube Controller and tested with every driver available, they work. When I launch any game from my Dolphin library, they alternate back and forth between being recognized and not being recognized instantly. I haven't been able to get the adapter to work, but the absence of posts requesting help makes me think I may be doing something wrong or may be missing something obvious. The Dolphin devs have stated since December '18 that the adapter works with native dolphin support. I apologize for the long response, but I have been trying to get it to work since most of today and each Dolphin developer has assured me it'll work. I have been trying to make progress, but I haven't succeeded. Because of this, I think it's more sensible to say "probably not" rather than a definite "no.".

I have read some reviews that state the ports are too tight, but it actually works as designed. Build quality is so good and it works as designed. There have been no lag issues on Smash Bros. for me. There are some other games such as Super Mario Odyssey that can be played with Ultimate as well. The Gamecube Adapter for Nintendo Switch is a good deal for $15, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality Gamecube Adapter. *My only concern and concern with Retro Controller Hub is that it does not include at the bottom anything to prevent slippy surfaces, but by buying some anti-slip tape you can solve it Placing the slip material at the bottom will ensure it does not slip. Keep this adapter away from your body. I noticed that the port held a firm grip on my controller when I first tried to use it. I removed the controller from the port, and it slipped out the plastic bit from the header when I removed it.
