Yes, the "N" stands for "Nintendo," so it will fit on a Nintendo DSI.

Is it compatible with the Dsi XL?

Unfortunately, it did not fit my DSi; it had a game boy advanced game slot on the bottom, so I believe it was intended for the DSi, but it was too small for mine.
