Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the silver Nintendo 3DS XL? Mario is a fictional character created by Nintendo. ?

There are two distinct systems in operation. The 3ds XL and the New 3ds XL are two different versions of the 3ds XL. This is a perfect match for the new Nintendo 3DS XL. I have one of these, but I don't think it will fit a 3ds XL. Plus, I'd prefer something a little more robust. It's fine, but something a little more substantial would be preferable.

We are purchasing a new 3DS XL for our son. Some believe it is appropriate, while others believe it is not. Do you have any advice for me?

As a result, I suppose you'll have to define "fits" for yourself. My case fits perfectly and everything is snug, but there are these small hinges that connect the two pieces together (as seen in the product photo). The hinges connect for me, but they stick out a smidgeon at an awkward angle and aren't even parallel. However, it makes no difference in terms of functionality, and I found that the 3Ds itself felt very delicate and flimsy in comparison to other models, which this case solved.

The hinge has been replaced
4/5

The aluminum shell has been reduced in size. Many of the reviews for this product are for the clear shell rather than the new version. This is a review of the new aluminum shell version. All ports and buttons are easily accessible, and the product comes in two pieces that snap together securely with minimal effort. The power button is hidden behind a plastic flap, but you can still use it to turn the system on. br>br>They've eliminated the flimsy hinges that plagued the previous version of this product, but the protection it provides is limited to scratches and scuffs, with little to no shock or drop protection. When you hold it in your hands, it looks and feels fantastic. The only drawback is a strip of plastic fake leather-like material that appears grey in the photo but is actually a shiny leathery/brown color (see photo). This appears to be out of place, but it goes with my SF bag case. However, it appears as if it might come off. I'm thinking about giving it a go. br>br>I hope this has clarified some of the misunderstandings about this product.

Worth it
5/5

This case was purchased for my N3DS XL, and I have a few thoughts on it. But first, let me say that I haven't put this product through any kind of durability testing. I'm not a product tester, and I have no intention of dropping it from a 100-foot building (nor have I dropped it on the floor or anything similar), or scratching it with various materials to see what it can withstand. I'm just a typical user with typical requirements. My N3DS XL is stored in a designated pocket in my backpack, or in a pocket of my pants if it fits. My N3DS XL, on the other hand, sees a lot of action; I use it almost every day, and I take it everywhere (school, work, home, car, outdoors), so it's been exposed to a lot of different weather and environments. It does get a little filthy; I clean it on a regular basis. br>br>That's a quick rundown of how I use my N3DS XL so you can get a sense of what a case should be capable of. I wouldn't hesitate to classify my N3DS XL usage as "heavy. " br>br>The first hard protective cover/case I put on it was a HORI clear plastic one that I paid 16 dollars for at a local game store, and after a year of almost daily use of that case of the caliber I described above, it is badly scuffed, scratched, and gouged, so I was looking for something sturdier and more attractive to replace it with. br>br>This case is exactly that. It's strong, stylish, and attractive. The various textured materials on this shell make it comfortable and enjoyable to hold, and it is significantly heavier than a plastic case, giving it a robust weight and adding to the case's overall solid feel. br>br>I much prefer holding the heavier case. The case, in my opinion, balances out the N3DS XL's unbalanced weight distribution. If you don't hold it carefully, it appears to flop out of your hands, but this case significantly improves the system's balance in the hands. However, some people may be put off by its weight. br>br>My favorite feature of this case is the power button guard: on the naked N3DS XL, the power button is EXTERNAL and completely unprotected, which means that if you play it while lying down and resting the console on your chest, or if it's in a pocket and has any pressure on it (even gentle pressure, like your leg while sitting), you risk unintentionally pressing the power button in long enough to shut it off, causing your Even with the HORI case on, I found that pressing the power button by accident while picking up the system was too easy. br>br>This case, the TNP, has a little plastic strip that goes over the power button to protect it from accidental pressing! And pressing the power button in when you actually WANT to isn't difficult! This incredibly minor detail is currently my favorite aspect of the case. I like that I don't have to think about pressing the power button. It will not press if it is not absolutely intentional, but even intentional presses are not made more difficult by the guard, which is very cool. br>br>Pros:
- Exceptionally calm, lovely, and "mature" appearance; In silver, he's dashingbr>- Well- made; material and "feel" of high quality; a DIFFICULT casebr>- Snaps on securely without creaking, bending, wobbling, or coming loosebr>- Handling is a breeze; hefty and heavybr>- Top and bottom halves have finger gripsbr>- Strong, solid, and tough (I'll update the "toughness" rating once I've used it for a while)br>- The case is secured to the 3DS by foam padding on the inside surfaces, which protects the console from contact with the case. br>- Button guard with extra strength!! br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- Some players' hands may become fatigued as a result of the added weight. br>- Because the metal parts are so smooth, it's a little slippery to hold on to them. br>br>In conclusion, I strongly recommend this case. The designers appear to have thought of everything here, providing protection on both the inside and outside surfaces, an attractive but tough exterior, and a power button guard, all while paying close attention to the smallest of details. While the textured rubber finger grips on the top and bottom halves of the console add noticeable weight and size, they significantly contribute to how easy the case is to hold, as the rubber grips are right where your fingers will naturally sit while playing. This is a case that surpassed my expectations and met all of my requirements. br>br>Attached are a few photos. Take a look at the case I got from the top and bottom, with the console open and closed, as well as a close-up. Here's a list of some of my favorite features: Raikou is on my wrist strap, guarding the power button. br>br>.

It looks fantastic on you
4/5

It's almost a perfect fit for the larger 3DS - the product was exactly as described My only gripe is that the protrusion through the lower shell to the power button isn't quite long enough to easily turn the 3DS off. I can do it with my fingertip (my hands aren't small), but the stylus is more convenient. br>br>I can't say how much protection it provides because I don't want to test it destructively, but I have no reason to believe it wouldn't do a good job. Even the two-person version appeals to me. color scheme with two tones.

It's protective, but it's also a bit bulky
5/5

This case was primarily purchased to hide the numerous scratches on a previously owned "New Nintendo 3ds XL. " The case fits snugly on the console, and while I haven't dropped mine yet, I am confident that it will be safe in this case. br>br>One thing to keep in mind is that the case adds a lot of bulk to the console, so you should only get it if you're worried about dropping it or if you want to protect it from scratches.

I'm not sure about this one
3/5

It protects, but it doesn't feel well connected; the plates shift slightly when touched, and the power button cover makes turning the system on and off uncomfortable.

The case is sturdy and long-lasting
4/5

My 3DS XL is compatible with this case. I dropped my game a couple of times and it was fine. I have trouble pressing the power button because the case is so stiff that I have to use my nail to do so - It's a minor issue for me, and it's not a deal breaker. It's worth noting that my hands feel surprisingly cold.

It was disappointing
3/5

Although the product has a nice appearance and good intentions, it is poorly designed. The small brackets on the bottom shell are extremely flimsy and easily break during installation.
