I had other drivers to use, so I'll get the screw driver out of the way first. It's very cheap, the mold isn't great, the swivel on the end is plastic on plastic and doesn't feel great, and it can be difficult to get a lot of leverage on it, but what do you expect for the price? The actual opening tool is a little flimsy, and in comparison to another one I have that cost a few cents more, this one appears to be a little worse. It did the job, but I had to bend one or two of the prongs back into place once or twice; one of these isn't always required to open your 360, but it can be useful. I can't open a phat 360 without it, but I've successfully opened several slims using a long metal pry bar (could also use a screwdriver) and a thin metal jimmy tool. br>br>To cut a long story short, this will work if you just want to clean your old phat to help prevent red ring, or clean/grease your disc drive. However, I wouldn't expect it to last as long if you plan on using it frequently.
I can open them up in a matter of minutes without risking damage thanks to the opening tool. br>br>You can bend the opening tool if you're not careful, but I've been inside a dozen or more units and the tool is still as good as new. The Torx driver is cheap, but it's held up well, and I've had no issues with it. br>br>Note that these tools will allow you to disassemble the original fat / phat Xbox 360 and gain access to the disc drive, cooling fans, fan shroud, and top of the motherboard; however, they do not include a Torx driver to remove the ring of light or the heatsink screws on the bottom of the chassis, so you'll need to purchase a set of Torx bits if you need to fully remove the motherboard from the unit.
It's a flimsy metal piece that's been punched out to fit around the Xbox case snaps. It works, but I had to use very light pressure to bend mine. It appears to be designed as a one-time use item rather than a tool to add to your collection. It will be well worth the extra money if you can find a more durable or professional version of this tool.
This is the tool you'll need if you need to disassemble an Xbox 360. This screwdriver has a much nicer handle than some other screwdrivers I've purchased for similar purposes. That appeals to me. br>br>It also includes a small tool to aid in the removal of the 360's case (the black object in the product image). It is not necessary to open the 360, but it is advantageous. Although the small metal edges on this "Unlock Key" appear to be easily bent, I'm confident it will last long enough to open your Xbox and possibly a few more after that. So, yeah, I'll back it up. This is a fantastic item!.
It was a good product that did what it was supposed to do. Excellent value for the money.
I ordered the Xbox 360 tool kit, and the shipping was quick, and the product was exactly what I needed. This is a very popular item.
When you pay full price for something, you expect it to be brand new, but this garbage arrived used. Because it is flimsy and easily bends, you must use it with caution. I'd rather get a name brand than this garbage.
If you don't abuse the key, it should last a long time; I've used it to open a lot of units for repairs and it hasn't bent yet.
