Yes. This headset lasted about 6 weeks before it broke due to my son's sole use of it for Fortnite. He was able to hear the other players, but they were unable to hear him.
Yes, it's a "plug and play" solution. However, even with the Nintendo switch set to maximum volume and the headset set to maximum volume, the headset is still not very loud.

Update: The company has contacted me, and I am pleased with how this has been resolved. br>br>I purchased this headset for my son as a Christmas present. It has broken down and is no longer functional after less than 6 months. I was extremely dissatisfied with the outcome.
THIS THING IS GOING TO GET AWAY FROM ME. I, like everyone else, play Fortnite and have it turned all the way up so I can hear footsteps, which I do! This thing is great for when someone is trying to sneak up on you while playing Fortnite, and the surround sound is excellent for a low-cost item. Instead of spending over $60 on a headset, I recommend purchasing this. It's also extremely comfortable, and I don't mind wearing it all day. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that the maximum volume isn't very high; perhaps this is for ear protection, but I wish it could be a little louder. However, I am not complaining because I do not want to harm my hearing. This is an excellent tool.
This is a fantastic headset to purchase, and I absolutely adore it. People have complained that they can't play xbox and have the lights turned on at the same time. You can, and I do, by going to this link.
UPDATE FOR 2018 – Until December 2017, my son had no problems with this headset. He approached me and explained that the braided sleeve, which I thought was cool, was coming apart at the plug end of the cord, and that there wasn't much else protecting the wires aside from the sleeve. The headset, on the other hand, continued to function normally. I wasn't sure the seller would do anything about this defect after having it for six months and forgetting what the return policy was. I did, however, contact the seller and tell them about the braided sleeve starting to come apart, and they sincerely apologized, asked me to give the product another chance, and asked me to verify my shipping address. They even stated that they would send me a brand new replacement at no cost to me. They did so without being asked a single question. They didn't even ask if I wanted to return the broken headset. They provided a pleasant solution to a difficult situation. The headset is still a good enough product that I didn't mind replacing it. My other son's birthday is approaching, so I'll be purchasing another headset soon. If you're looking for a low-cost alternative to a high-priced headset like Turtle Beach, I still recommend this headset. My other son has requested tuberculosis treatment. I'm not going to do it, but I'm going to buy some more of these. Other reviews claim that they work while playing online in terms of hearing your teammates and the game's sounds. My son, however, has not experienced this. Both function flawlessly at the same time.

The headset appears to be extremely durable and child-proof. The adjustable band is made of ABS plastic with metal inserts, and the ear cushions are breathable mesh pillow cushions that are extremely comfortable. I have a very large head, and these are perfect for me. The built-in volume control and mute switch are excellent. The cord is extra long (8 feet), braided, and color coordinated all the way through. br>br>It also comes with a PC Splitter in case you have a similar setup. The LED lights, which are blue, are powered solely by the USB. As a result, the USB port isn't required, but it's a nice addition if you're into that sort of thing. br>br>The microphone quality is excellent, and noise cancellation appears to be effective. Only when I had a fan pointed directly at me did I notice echo. br>br>The sound quality is excellent for the price. They have a higher treble content and a lower bass content, which is ideal for games like Fortnite. br>br>My only quibble is that the fabric on the cord frayed after only a few uses on my first pair. It wasn't badly frayed, though, and when I contacted the company (after the return deadline had passed), they promptly sent me a replacement at no cost. The quality of their customer service was outstanding. I would not hesitate to purchase this brand again, and I have already placed an order for a second pair as a Christmas present.
I was pleasantly surprised by the headset's performance. So far, this purchase, which cost less than $30, has proven to be well worth it. Let's see how long they last, because the sound quality is excellent. I only got them to replace the headset that came with my PS4 so I could talk to friends in parties while gaming, but now I can actually hear everything in the game, which is a huge help. If they last a long time, I would recommend this low-cost headset over higher-end, more expensive headsets.
