That's correct. However, it appears to have a problem, which I hope will be resolved with firmware updates. Otherwise, the buttons will be digital unless you connect the DualShock 3 and the SuperConverter via USB cable. You don't need to keep the USB cable plugged in, and everything works as it should wirelessly. However, you must connect the DS3 to the SuperConverter with a USB cable each time it is turned on.
Yes, of course. I was unable to make it work.

There is no help in the user manual (download). I spent about an hour attempting to figure out why it wasn't working. I discovered the solution after watching YouTube videos and googling the issue. AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS! 1. br>br> The adapter's firmware cannot be updated on a Mac computer. To get the update and install the adapter, I needed to use a PC. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br If you have a PS2 SLIM, make sure the switch on the top of the adapter is set to "XID," not PS2 (I'm not sure why). 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. For power, you must also plug the USB into the console. br>br>It works great if you do that! I hope this helped someone else save some time and frustration.
In order to play PS2 games on the go, you'll need a wireless controller. First and foremost, let me state that I am an avid gamer. I have a FAT PS2 with FMCB, a modified SATA ethernet adapter, and a 2 TB HDD running on my system. I gave this a try after trying several other wireless options and discovering that they are all either inferior or hot garbage, and I was blown away. It was almost plug and play after I updated the dongle on my PC. Plug in the dongle, turn on the PS2, connect your favorite PS3 or PS4 controller once, and you're ready to play BLACK or COD or whatever else you want without having to worry about third-party controller issues or having to run a wired controller halfway across your living room in case someone trips over it. While playing your favorite games with your favorite controller, you can avoid costly hospital bills or damaged PS2 systems. This isn't just the best option to think about; it's the ONLY option that's worth thinking about. Don't think twice about purchasing this. By the way, I received the keychain and stickers.
Button presses that appear to be random are rarely triggered. While it may appear that this is a non-issue at first, it is. It occasionally acts as if I pressed the PS button, which disables the analog sticks in some games, rendering me immobile until I realize what has happened. This problem is most evident when I leave my PS4 controller on a table and watch the game unpause on its own. I've requested a replacement because it's possible I have a defective unit; I'll update this review if anything happens. br>br>EDIT 5/30/2019: br>br> br>I received a replacement, but it has the same problem. br>br>EDIT 7/27/2019: br>I purchased a PS3 controller, which has been working flawlessly for the past month or so. Finally, it works perfectly, but NOT WITH PS4 CONTROLLERS.
I'm pleased to report that both types of controllers function flawlessly on the PlayStation 2. I was also able to use this device on the original PlayStation, which was a pleasant surprise! As a result, I can now use the PS3/PS4 controller on both PS3 and PS4 consoles. PlayStation 2 is the sequel to the PlayStation. It was as simple as plug and play on both consoles. play. To activate it on the PS3 controller, I had to press the Start button, while on the PS4 controller, I had to press the Options button. Two thumbs up! br>br> EDIT: br>br>/ BTW, I did not receive the key chain that was advertised with this product; however, I did not purchase this product for the key chain anyway. Game3Gear isn't one of them.
I went ahead and installed the 1. Updated firmware for the 14th time on the 15th of August, 2019. The instructions were a little confusing. To get Brook's software to recognize it, you must first download it from his website and then hold the button down while plugging it into your computer. After that, you just need to update and you're ready to go. br>br>I tried it out on my DualShock 4, and it works perfectly. It's the same situation with the PS4: Connect your controller to the Brook adapter via Micro USB, then "register" it with the adapter by pressing the DualShock 4 button. It now connects without a hitch and "remembers" the Brook device as the Bluetooth target to which it should connect. br>br>I was surprised to discover that, at least with my PS2 Slim, USB power is apparently not required. When I unplugged the Brook adapter from the PS2's USB port after my first gameplay session, the red light on the Brook adapter stayed on, indicating that my controller was still operational. br>br>It's a pricey device, but it beats hunting for old PS2 wireless controllers of questionable quality.
I've spent a lot of money on PS2 controllers; the original is difficult to come by new and is overpriced these days; third-party controllers are of poor quality and are poorly constructed; and licensed good controllers are expensive and prone to malfunctions; and attempting to repair an official PS2 controller can be costly as well. br>br>This adapter astounded me because it is plug-and-play and worked flawlessly with my PS2 FAT model SCHP- 39001, no need for the (included) usb power cable, I tried it in wireless mode with a PS4 first generation controller and it worked flawlessly for the entire 2 hour play session. br>br>It also has a reassignment function, which is fantastic and simple to use. For example, you can switch the R1 button to the R2 to use the PS4 controller's better-positioned triggers. br>br>Use of the update feature is simple and quick. br>br>I love this thing so far, the only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is because I've only had it for 3 days and don't know if the durability is up to par, but I'll update this as soon as I can or if I discover any issues in the future, but for now, it does exactly what it says with a lot of pluses, best purchase for my PS2 in years.
