How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

Players will be able to enjoy the game like never before thanks to stunning graphics and beautifully animated summoning abilities that span both Nintendo DS screens.
The plot picks up 30 years after the events of the second game, when the Golden Sun Effect took place. The protagonists are descended from the heroes from the previous game.
Character movement and the release of Psynergy - magical abilities with powerful effects on people and the environment - are controlled by intuitive touch-screen controls throughout the game. Touch control also simplifies battle commands and provides players with a more tactile connection to the action on screen.
Players will travel through a vast and beautifully rendered world, discovering numerous treasures, encountering dangerous creatures, and manipulating obstacles in their way. Djinn, mysterious elemental creatures used to summon powerful spirits in battle, will also be hunted for and collected by the players.

Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the Nintendo 3DS?

Mitchell, yes, I did play it on my 3DS XL =).

Hello, I'm curious if the game is available in Spanish and if it is compatible with the Nintendo 3DS XL. ?

I believe Spanish is a game language that can be selected from the menu. Also compatible with a 3DS XL is the cartridge.

Is it possible to play this game and follow the story without having played the first two Golden Sun games?

You can certainly do so. It's a completely different story than the first two games, and it makes no reference to them. At the start, there's an exposition dump that's really just an introduction to the characters you'll be playing as and some background information on their parents.

Is the 2DS XL compatible with this game?

Yes, all DS games (original, xl, new, new xl) are compatible with the 2/3DS systems. However, 3DS games are incompatible with the DS.

The dawn is the darkest time
3/5

The Sun of Gold: Dark Dawn is both a step forward and a step back for the franchise, as it takes place years after the first two games, when the original protagonists have all had children, and it ditches the tedious and slow overworld of nothing in favor of a much more efficient and enjoyable world map. It also lacks focus, jumping around to various plot points at random and never expanding on the Djinn and combat systems from the Game Boy Advance games. It also has a soundtrack that is uncharacteristically bad. It's a decent enough playthrough all the way to the end, but it doesn't exactly whet the appetite for a fourth installment.

Golden Sun was a lot of fun to play
5/5

Golden Sun was a lot of fun to play. Dark Dawnbr>br>It was full of nostalgic moments that brought back memories of playing the previous two games; Dark Dawn, on the other hand, is distinctive enough to stand alone. br>br>Because I am left-handed, I was initially concerned that the game would be played on a touch screen. You can, however, play with the analog stick as you would any other game without using the stylus. br>br>The music in Dark Dawn is incredible; it aids in the creation of atmosphere and adds a great deal to the overall game experience. br>br>My only criticism of Dark Dawn is that the puzzles aren't as challenging as they were in previous games. Dark Dawn's overall difficulty is lower, and while I've been stuck in dungeons for hours in previous games, I've never wondered what to do next in Dark Dawn. In fact, I don't think any of my characters have ever died in battle while I've been playing. However; br>br> If you liked the first two games, Dark Dawn is a must-play. It was a fantastic experience, and I sincerely hope they will venture into the Golden Sun universe again.

It's a good reason to get a 2DS
5/5

The Golden Sun series is one of my favorites, and I bought my 2DS specifically to play this game. Despite the fact that it isn't as good as the previous two games, I still enjoy Golden Sun: I'm looking forward to the fourth game in the series, Dark Dawn. A number of issues have been raised: If you already know how to play, the tutorial at the start is a bit annoying, the graphics quality has dropped from the first two games, and there are some pointless points of no return. It would be even better if you could skip the cut scenes. The game, on the other hand, was a lot of fun for me. The world building is fantastic, as are all of the hints at previous civilizations, and the gameplay is entertaining. This game was well worth the investment in a new gaming system.

Battle system that is completely unique
4/5

To be honest, I had never played Dark Dawn's predecessor, but I still had a great time with it. The battle system was unique in that it used various combinations of Djinn, the collectible magical creatures that provide you with your abilities, to create a variety of tactical options. I'm more of a "kill everything before it touches me" kind of guy, but having to strategically spread out my Djinn forced me to get more creative with how I used each one. br>br>It reminded me a lot of the Dragon Quest series in terms of gameplay. The plot was a little "ehh," but it was still enjoyable. The characters were entertaining and had unique personalities that didn't rely on tropes or stereotypes. The various countries each had their own culture, and I liked how much freedom you had to explore. br>br>There is some grinding to be done, but it isn't nearly as difficult as it is in other games. Overall, even if you're new to the series, it's a worthwhile game.

The Sun of Gold - Where have all the bosses gone? I've been a fan of Golden Sun for a long time (anyone who knows what it is has to be a long time fan)
4/5

) When I first heard about Dark Dawn, I was ecstatic because it meant I'd be able to get even more Golden Sun. The franchise does an excellent job of combining everything that is great about RPGs with its own unique style and innovations. br>br>Application: br>br>Application: br>br>Ap The game is simple enough for anyone to pick up, and while I recommend starting with the first two, the in-game content is also worth checking out. Almost everything is covered in the game encyclopedia and dialogue. There are no puzzles that are too difficult or require consulting the FAQs, but I do recommend thoroughly exploring your surroundings because almost every room, hut, or town contains dozens of secrets (even if they are just herbs). Enemies don't seem to appear as frequently as they did in the first two games. Because there is so much customization and leveling up, solving (which there is a lot of) and battling does not become tedious. Fighting becomes a fun way to show off your latest strategy--there are dozens of Djinn, Psynergies, and weapons with unique and powerful unleashing abilities. Upgrades or a shift. br>br>Entertainment & Recreation & Recreation & Recreation & Recreation & Recreation & Recreation & Recreation & Recreation & The game is extremely appealing. Environments are large and unique, taking full advantage of the DS's graphics capabilities. Everything has been given careful consideration in terms of aesthetics and puzzles, and it shows. The game's most enjoyable aspect is pure nostalgia - The game's timeline is 30 years long, which corresponds to 7 years in our time. I have fond memories of Issac and his companions' exploits, and the heroes of previous games have become legendary in Dark Dawn. There is a fun side quest to collect storybooks with stories from the first two games in them. Battles are entertaining, puzzles are interesting, and some of the dialogue is clever. The Negatives: br>br> YES, there is a great deal of conversation. In previous games, I enjoyed it, but it rambles a little too much at times. It also had the annoying habit of having each member of your party share their thoughts on various subjects during cut scenes near the end of the game, as if the developers wanted to make sure everyone got enough "facetime" in the game. It's also a pain, tough- Tyrell, who has less and less to contribute halfway through the game, appears to be losing his personality. It's peculiar. Oh, and I believe he likes Sveta. However, it never comes to fruition. The lack of proper bosses is unquestionably the game's worst flaw. I can't tell you how many times I mentally prepared my party for what would almost certainly be a battle with a tough boss. I prepared myself by healing, setting Djinn, and saving, but 9 times out of 10, it would just be more puzzles. Where had all of the bosses gone? The final boss was the only thing that resembled bosses from previous games in terms of difficulty and strategy. After some passive leveling up, the rest usually just takes brute force. br>br>Despite a few flaws and over-engineering, the game is a blast to play. dialogue that is indulgent It took 23 hours (nearly a full day) to beat it. What do you think about it? ), and I eagerly await the next direct sequel.

Camelot did not let us down
5/5

Since I first played the originals, I've wanted to play this game. I bought a Nintendo DS and a copy of the game, and I played it nonstop. Even if you haven't played the first two games, the graphics are nice, the summons are lovely, and the story is simple to follow. There are references to the original Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age, but they have no bearing on the overall plot. br>I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys JRGP or RPGs in general; it's a fun game.
